i like the long style that tucks under.
doesnt intake as much heat.
but if you go through puddles or mud, its way easier to get water into the intake.

Yep, make one. Using a good cone filter they flow just as well for <$50 as the ones you buy for up to $300...

Do a search, a good many pics and DIYs on here...

you can find ones on ebay that are long tubes that also remove the hemi hat. yes it is cheaper to buy on of these but i think there are a few benefits to the home made. i think the pvc actually help because it is a lot thicker and dosn't transfer the heat to the air as much as these metal pipes. plus u can get what ever filter you want instead of the pos filters these ebay intakes come with but you could do that after words any way. also you can say to your friends i built my own cai.

i spent $50 on my filter but i got an aem dry flow 3x5

If that thing is $25 shipped then the filter has got to be a POS and I'd not trust it in my vehicle. Pyro bought one online for cheap and I was making him one a short time later when his broke from the vibrations of driving, the materials used were so thin and weak.

Those of us who make 'em spend about $15 in PVC, coupler and brackets and about $35 on a good quality filter alone. If you don't want to make one, at least buy a decent one. Dirt and debris does a LOT of damage to an engine!!!

Agreed with above, make one.

Not only is it cheaper and more fun but also more cool and better because being PVC, it will not absorb the heat from the engine.
