Default flashing 4x4 indicator lites

anyone have a problem with flashing indicator lite for the 4x4 on a 2006 ram 3500 5.9

this actually should have gone to the cummins section...

but...

a flashing indicator light isn't a good thing.. it generally means something is in peril.. that said, the little switch that mounts in the top of the transfer case that's sole function is to indicate the position of the transfer case is a known weak link on these rigs.. and could be the issue.. except, I've never heard of them causing flashing, jsut inaccurate readings..

does it flash rhythmically or not? if it flashes all helter skelter, I'd figure that switch is your issue..

I was going to say if it flashes randomly and 4x4 wont engage its your switch

Are yall not checking to see if its even going into 4x4?
I buy all my trucks with 4wd as an option but i check atleast once a month that 2wd/4wdhi/4wdlo all work? Thats the point of having it is for it to work...

yes I check it often and its does work. I just keep getting random flashing 4x4 light in dash when going down the road... and the truck acts different while its flashing. And the **** is in the off position.

Well atleast we know it works. some one had a similar problem with no 4x4 light, but it would engage the 4x4 they replaced the switch
