If you leave the belt off and start it, it will eliminate a lot of other noise, but make it short each time and hook up a battery charger, if you've got one.
Whoops. I went completely brain dead and confused them .

Got a Mopar 53032130AC arriving on the 19th. That is the other tensioner I should have replaced when I did the easy one. I will do that first and if I am still not happy I will have to dig deeper. It screams like a scalded dog when I ask it to so I guess you can't ask for much more than that at eighteen.
All of you guys really helped me this time.
Thanks!

Can you post a couple of close up pictures of your harmonic balancer? It looks like some rubber may be sticking out.

Sorry I wasn't clear about harmonic balancer picture. What I was looking for was a front shot of the harmonic balancer. It appears in one of your pictures that there is some dampening rubber sticking out of the front. I'm referring to the dampening rubber that is between the two rings of the harmonic balancer. If this has failed then you may get the noise your describe.
If you still have the serpentine belt off, try turning the outer ring of the balancer like it was a steering wheel. See if you get play. You could also paint stripe that goes across outer ring, dampener, and inner ring to see if you get slippage on start.
The front of the harmonic balancer should be smooth across its face and perfectly flat.
The balancer is the one part of the front belt drive system that turns when belt is removed.
The picture I'm looking at is the one that says, "New MOPAR water pump and cha ching". I see the harmonic balancer and looks like the inner and outer rings are not aligned. I also think I see some rubber dampener sticking out. May be the picture angle though and I'm seeing a mirage.

Awesome instructions. I started to pull the drive belt back off this morning but I said I better call the guy who had it for 9 days and he had done exactly as you described to try and eliminate the harmonic balancer. I am actually impressed with this guy and his abilities. After going over the items checked off of the list the fan clutch may just need a little lube? I am beginning to not worry so much about it now that I have looked at the marks on the harmonic balancer he made to find TDC or whatever to look for slipping between the inner and outer parts was evidence enough for me that I had a master mechanic check the old girl out and she is ready for another little 15-20k worth of driving and earn me enough to buy another new one and I will decide then if I want keep baby going or donate a very well taken care of vehicle to someone who deserves it.
This Forum makes me feel like I do when I walk on a job or into our hall. I am around BROTHERS and SISTERS. I truly appreciate it. Too many people these days don't help others out. I have found that by giving more than I want I am actually rewarded in multiples. Good looking out!
