Noise at start-up driving me crazy!
04 ram 1500 4wd hemi
Have had the truck since 05 and baby has been very well cared for so any change in sound, pitch, yawl, squeak, etc. will be heard and addressed by myself or a bonified competent individual.
To start off I gave a friend a jump-start at work and within a few weeks I noticed my battery gauge deflecting and also a strange sound at start up. The battery was an Odyssey and about a year old and had a bad cell but they actually sent me another one based on my word. Got the new battery and still had this same bad starter sound so had a Mopar starter installed. Still noise so put in a Mopar water pump, changed the drive belt, replaced a broken stud on exhaust manifold, power steering pump was reworked as it is the original as well but this noise is still there. Sounds just like a bad starter would? Kind of a RAAAAAAAAAR sound right after the starter has engaged and just when you would think it is disengaging this sound makes itself known. The average person could care less but I will not tolerate any unnecessary noises as I know they are a sign of a problem
Any ideas please!
Thanks

Most excellent question! I will call and ask the guy tomorrow if he did an inspection. I should think he would given his detailed nature but honestly we all thought it was the starter so absolutely worth pulling it back off to inspect. Thx bud.
