Default 4x2 or 4x4 and why -

Time for another poll!

As i have had my new 05 qc black hemi since November, i have started kicking myself about a few things. Had to be an 05 to get the sweet deal, and the only ones on the lot were black 4x2 and a silver 4x4. At the time i had to have black, well, as dirty as this sucker stays I maybe wish i would have gottten silver. In addition to that I really wanted a 4x4 at the time, but settled for a 4x2, cuz its a little better on gas and what really do i need a 4x4 for. Well I'l tell you - the look. I love the way a 4x4 sits in the front vs a 4x2.

So I wonder, do you have a 4x2, or a 4x4 and what are your thoughts

I've always had 4x4 trucks, no matter what brand. Just purchase a new '05 Ram Hemi Q/C 1500 4x4 from Edmonton, Alberta.

Need 4x4 up here in Canada's Arctic, especially for my type of driving (off-road).

Happy trucking from Cambridge Bay, Nunavut Canada.

I got the 4X4 because after driving a 2 wheel drive truck in the snow for 7 years I was ready for some traction!

4X4 for a few reasons. First off, I live in NY, so the winters can be bad, but not bad enough to warrant 4X4 as a must. But, it would be nice and it was in my budget. So I got it. The stance I liked, as well as the emblems (yes, I think a 4X4 may look better because of the emblems...) and finally, it was the exact truck I wanted (Basically a 4 Door Rumble Bee), and it had 4WD. The thing could have been a 4X2 and got 3 MPG and for the way it looked I would have bought it.

4x4 all the way. Here in michigan you never know what weather you will deal with. Had ford 4x2 and was constanly getting pulled out of the snow with a dodge [sm=hail.gif]

I've got a 2WD basically because I don't go off-roading, easier on the gas, but with as much as I tow and haul and such I really needed a truck.

4x4 here in Maine.
I also do quite a bit of hunting and fishing up in northern Maine and 4x4 is a must up there. Old dirt logging roads go for miles and if you get stuck you will not be able to depend on someone driving by anytime soon to help you out.
I also use it for pulling my 21' boat. There are some ramps that it really helps to have 4Low to get out of at low tide.

Bought my 4x4 after owning a 4x2 for only a year. A little snow on the ground and no traction at all. With the 4x4, now I have all the traction I need.

I can't vote cause there's no "4x2 and proud of it" box. I got a 4x2 and that's what I wanted. I wanted the lighter curb weight and less mechanics to push power through. I knew I was moving south so I wouldn't need a 4x4 or the extra money on repairs. I do like 4x4's but I just don't need one. If I'm going muddin or crawling, I'm gonna drive a POS that I won't mind bashing. This is my first car and I want to take care of it somewhat. If I move back north , I'll probably get a 4x4, cause I hate snow. HATE snow.
