After a quick search , I haven't found alot of info.... I want to put cab lights ( clearance lights) on my 1500. Does anybody know a good kit to buy? I understand I'd have to remove my headliner to run the wires. Has anybody here on the forums done this to their 3rd Gen RAM? I'm a little leary about drilling holes in my roof too...[8D]

 

Well I had a dealership install the mopar clearance lights I bought online because I don't feel comfortable drilling my roof.

If you do decide to go at it yourself, the connection for the lamps is behind the right A-Pillar trim panel.

 

so how hard is it to get the headliner out and all that business?? i heard you have to remove the back window and it was going to be quite a task. if it's not all that tough please let me know, i'd like to install a set.

 

Thanx for the tip srenken! RUNOVRYOU, I plan to order these soon, so whatever I find , I'll be sure to let you know what's involved. In the meantime, if anyone else knows more about headliner removal, please post because I have no idea how it comes down.

No you do not have to remove the rear window to pull the headliner down. Find the service manual on-line, and it explains how to drop the headliner. The A and B Pillar trim panels hold it up, as well has the rear coat hooks, and sunvisor clips. There are two snap springs in the overhead console, but most people remove the lamp lens, and then pull the screws out that hold the overhead console into the snap clips.

 

After 1 year and 3 months I finally ordered and installed my cab lights. Here's a before and after pic. I also put fenderflares on the truck . The after pic also includes 285 Bridgestone Revo's and a few more rounds up on the torsion bars.It took about 3 hours for the light install and was pretty easy.

 

Here's what i find ineresting... Don't know why i saw this.... But did you notice your rims have the same spoke location in both pictures? Just thought it was funny...
