Default anyone tune a turbo 0n a 5.7 sucessfully?

My success with tunning aftermarket turbo kits just came with major headaches. I was contemplating on installing the STS system on my 03 5.7but am woried about not having enough info on tunning the hemi. I know how sensative the tunning can be to a turbo powered engine and don't wan't to risk my 32k investment with out realy feeling sure that these systems are easlytunable. so has anyone had this set up installed with a the proper tunning and no problems? I have only worked ona mazda RX7 third gen and that was complicated , but do-able. Hemi turbos is uncharted teritory. I would love to hear from those of you whom have been sucessful at it.

Check out DTW for more info and www.elcolasmotorsports.com sells a tune for the Hemi. I have an '05 with the STS turbo and it runs good.

Yeah, we have a little family of finely tuned hemi turbo running around.

SRT10KLLR is the goto tune guru.

hey HEMIFEVER, I noticed you did some serious mods toyour 03. Was it because the stock engine could not handle the sts setup? or can I run this system with the stock engine, injectors and fuel system? To obtain the 412rwhp what internals have to be changed?

I checked out dtw and can see that it is a piggy back type systemusing windows software threw a laptop. What does this software consist of and how hard is to tune without a dino?

I ran the stock based engine for two years running on avg 8 to 9psi and it held up great. (I recommend 7psi on a stock engine). In any case, I went to KRC and had them put on their 6005 series heads and a 6.1L cam. That added some serious power, another 65 to 75,and when you mix that with 8 and 9psi of boost, the stock rods just can't handle it. lol. That basically was the power of 12 to 13psi of boost on stock internals.

We have a few tunes you can start off with to see what works best. You'd then have to fine tune WOT and idle. Some folks think it's pretty easy and some folks struggle a little.

You can tune without a dyno but your neighbors will hate you, lol. You need a good wideband(ie. Innovate LM-1 w/RPM converter) to log your runs a laptop and a lonely stretch of road. It is hard to look at your boost gauge, a/f gauge and laptop all at the same time while driving so data logging the run and making changes later is best.
