Oldjeep,

Thanks for the suggestions... I PM'd Julian so I will wait to hear what he says. In the meantime, I went to the Bakflip website and found the following bullet under their FAQ page for the G2:

How strong are the panels?
EXTREMELY STRONG! These covers can handle 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight. Snow loads are never a problem. Even when this cover has been subjected to destructive hail storms that have severely damaged trucks causing thousands of dollars worth of damage, we have never had a cover damaged by hail and do not expect it to happen!

Thanks again!

Default current experience

I'm in the process of writing up a pretty beefy post to a new thread going over hard covers. I am currently dealing with bakflip, have an open issue, and hope to have some answers soon. I plan to write up something so people looking for some answers on solid covers have some data.

stay tuned...

i plan to touch on the standard hard covers that come up a lot in our threads

As Promised, the follow-up to my damaged Bakflip. Julian was very helpful and I got my replacement F1 today. Does seem a lot more durable than the G2. Anyways, I give Bakflip two thumbs up for GREAT customer service and satisfaction. Thanks Bakflip!!

I am still cover-less as I have been watching for a better cover. I like the Bakfilp @ the G2 price. I have been informed that the G2 is now coming with the HD thickness aluminum. However, I'm in Ontario and we get hail, as a matter of fact hail the size of golf ***** has occurred here.

So it would appear that I need the F1, but I can't justify the cost over the G2. It won't look any different, so am I just paying for poor design that does not do what it promises?

I have previously had the Pace Edwards Roll Cover and then a 4 section hard flip from Ford. Installed within a week of buying the trucks. Now that I have the Dodge Rambox, I'm without a cover for the first time after 2 1/2 Months.

I am not unsatisfied with BakFilp's responses, just don;t think I can justify buying the F1.

I am also waiting for the bedrug for the Rambox......

Hi Ontario Ram,

Having read your post, I'd like to be able to work with you to get a new F1 on your RamBox. I have multiple distributors in Canada as well as the means to be able to help you out if my initial suggestion doesn't work for you. Either way, I am here to help and will do all I can to ensure that you get an F1 on your rig as inexpensively and painlessly as possible.

PM me or email me at julian@bakliner.com and I will personally help you out.

All the best,

Julian Maimin - COO
