I took our Avenger in it has YES seats (forgive me if I told this story but lotta pages to read) anyway because his pants have velcro and messed up the mesh I told him to bring it in and tell them the seat is wearing out funny. They did not question it, said will order new cover call ya when its in, came in they outsourced it looks great all set.

I've got the seats without the stitching in the front and my driver's seat is bad. I never carry my wallet or anything else and the seat is distorted. I only weigh 175 pounds. Any news on what they might do for these covers? They started distorting after the first week I had the truck.
Thanks!

From what I'm told, the recall is on the 09's only. For whatever reason, the leather feels thicker on mine than it does on the 09's. Might just be me though.

Correct, and it's not even all of the '09s - just specific earlier builds. From my understanding, it does not include any '10 models.

Here's my seat; it's a 2010 Laramie I purchased 4 months ago with 12,000 miles.

I just read over my recall notice and it states "select 2009 year models". Im thinking if the issue continues into late 2009 and early 2010 that they will extend the recall.
I have an early 2009 Laramie and I have the typical wrinkles and early signs of wear also. I figure Im going to let it get alittle worse before if have it fixed (maybe allowing them to come up with a "better" fix first) haha.

A leather seat that nobody ever sits on will look like the ones in the Dodge brochure. After some us, the driver's seat, well, I think not. Mine already looks somewhat stretched after 1700km. I would be interested to see what leather seats look like in other makes of vehicles. I suspect that "taut" look is only when they are new.

Not at all; I've owned or currently own the following:

GMC 2500HD
SRT8 Charger
Prius
BMW 740IL
Passat
Jaguar

All had leather and not one of these has had the leather strech and de-form like what they are using in my 2010 Ram.

in the last few years:

My 2008 Corvette leather seats had a hole worn in the bolster and the bottom leather was cracked at 20K miles, dealer replaced the covers, very common problem.

My GMC 2500HD (2007) leather seats looked like crap after 50K miles (started looking bad around 10K), cracked and wrinkled like a '79 caddy. I should ahve had the covers replaced under the 3/36 but I didnt bother, I was used to it after a while.

My 2009 Pontiac G8 with perforated leather looked like crap after 15K miles. Not only was it stretched and wrinkled but each hole in the perforations had strands of leather poking out, looked like a giant red chia-pet.

My 2010 Laramie (with the cooled buckets) looks like new after a year and 12K miles, as well as my wife's Jeep Commander with 17K miles.

I could go back over the last 30 years of cars I have owned but some leather seats hold up better than others. If its as bad as some have posted then take it to a dealer and get it replaced. Some pics here look pretty bad and I wouldnt be happy with it either if mine looked like that.
