Seat wear
Chrysler watching this thread? Uhmmm ... I don't think Chrysler is doing much of anything other than getting ready to kiss their butts goodbye in 60 days. According to Obama yesterday, bankruptcy is the best way for them to go and ... oh by the way, new buyers don't worry - the government will cover your warrantee. Crappy seats you say? Oh, sorry we bought before Obama's 3/30/09 coverage date. Not to worry though, Obama said he'd take care of everything ... didn't he? That's why we voted for him.
There is a politcal forum elsewhere.
I started this thead to identify if others were experiencing the same seat wear.
There were/are many who are having tha same problems...its all in this thread.
As I dug into it I posted contacts and have used this thread mutiple times communicating with chrysler. This thread happens to be the largest conglomertation of complaints I know.
I am sure the executives and stocks holders are puckered up big time tight now.
Everyone else will continue doing there jobs as long as they have one.
Customer service and engineering are still working. Customer service calls me bi weekly.
Rest assured Chrysler is aware of this thread. Chrysler told my dealership and Chrysler called and told me they read this thread. This thread was not started for mindless banter.
I was and am looking for facts.
I had a recall done yesterday. Chrysler is still a company for now.
NHTSA sent me this. They are also aware of this site and the seat wear problem as are many other agencies.

To follow up on my day at the dealer. 3.30.09 post
Told you the dealership; service director; took pictures of my worn out seat.
Chrysler directed him to forward the pictures to engineering.
Talked to the service manager a few minutes ago about ETA.
He tells me he has no idea because this seat cover is not going through normal channels...parts does not have an order # for it.
Could not tell me if its going to be different. Could not tell me anything because they can't track the seat cover.
For those of us with the issue, hold your breath for a better cover. I am!
Just called the service director and he seems to think they are sending a special seat but he is not sure.
I will sure let you know when it gets here. This could be good news.
Cheers

Awesome, i'm glad you guys have alittle light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. I've had mine about 2 weeks now and i have not had any deformation of my seat, but i have been following this thread pretty closely just incase i do start getting some issues.
I also mentioned this thread while signing the papers on my truck and the saleman and business manager said they'd check it out and see if they could find any other information out.

had my seat cover replaced on monday. drove home and back to work for tues (14 miles total), w/ heated seat on in the morning. in that short time, it started stretching again. ive talked to our service manager, quality control person, and warranty manager about it, and that maybe one of them should call chrysler & see whats going on. no worries, ill just have it replaced again...and again...and again......
The latest for those of us wth the seat wear issue.
Went by the dealership today to check the status of my new seat cover.
The service director showed me and e-mail from a Rob to a Ravi to him.
It only said my service director needs answers ASAP.
Service Manager sent an e-mail saying I was there. Told him to tell them I was raising hell....Doubt he did that.
Here is the suprising news.
If you go in to the dealership to get your worn out heated/ventilatad seat cover these days you can't.
That seat cover is no longer availble to the dealers.
A message comes up and tells the dealership to call Rob...he is a manager of something over the whole issue. Would not give me last names.
Service Director said I was now famous. More like infamous. Good!
I continue to hold my breath. They could not give me ETA of my seat cover.
I do believe they are taking this very seriously and doing something about it now.
Regardless of their future.
I know my dealship is taking the problem very seriously. This is seat cover number 2 for me.
