I don't know if the poor guy is still reading this thread but I believe you too. The DRIVER makes all the difference in the world. I remember going to the track with my little honda and keeping nose to nose with a GT. Obviously he had more HP etc. But apparently the guy was just driving challenged. More power to 'ya!

Sorry, meant 4.6. I really stopped caring for the Mustang after 68, although the early 70s MACH I were nice.

And I do not own a Mustang, just a realist. A stock Hemi Ram will not keep up with a stock 09 GT. You are talking a full second+ difference. That is night and day in the street performance numbers world. Your only chance is for someone to miss a shift or for wet conditions and you use four wheel drive. Hell a R/T Challenger will not keep up/almost dead heat with a 10 GT, which does have 15 more HP over the 09 though.... Why in the hell would the same motor in a much heavier truck do better than a R/T Chally.... It won't.

Mods... if this is done to vehicle A and this is done to vehicle B.... I can take a Dodge Omni and build it to run with a Viper, but who cares?

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t_numbers.html

We should stick to comparing the same class of vehicle.... Meaning full size trucks. Dodge has the current quickest truck in the R/T Hemi and a optional Hemi in almost all their other 1500s that will beat the others. In a couple years (if Dodge survives) someone else will probably grab the title... And that is a maybe. New emmission laws and more pressure for MPGs down the road may choke off the race. I read an article (ZR1/SRT ACR thing) talking to the very fact that we may have reached the top of the mountain, at least for the next several years. I just hope we do not see another span like we did from the mid 70s to mid 80s...

My girlfriend has an 07 GT/CS and I have always wondered what would happen if we raced. I guess the only way to find out is to line em up.I dont want to lose to her! maybe ill insure my win and unplug a coil or 2 ;-0

4.7 is a 289. You saying that there is no such thing as a 289 mustang?

I believe him, I owned an 09 4.7 with 310 hp and I must admit they are pretty quick. These guys are not pro stock racers, so a second faster means crap. Off the line I bet he will launch faster then the mustang. The truck having 3.92 and the Mustang having 3.55 or less.

Stock '09s GTs aren't that quick. mid 13s-low 14s. There was one at the track when I was running 13.7s, and he was 14.0. There was also a supercharged 4.0 v6 Mustang. We lined up once, he lost. I've got a stock R/T.

'Stangs are funny, 'cuz they are all over the board. Run into a Terminator or a modded fox body and you could be in for trouble...but there are plenty of 15+ second Mustangs rolling around too.

The '11 GT is getting a 411 hp 5.0, and that car weighs less than 3600lbs. Should be pretty quick.
