Remember that we are talking about a quad cab ram with the 4.7 v8 and not the hemi. They are not even close.

Remember, you also have to factor in the tire size. I'm pretty sure the Mustangs aren't running 32" tall tires more like 28". The effective ratio of the Mustang is much lower than the 3.92 when comparing it to the truck.

In a couple years (if Dodge survives) someone else will probably grab the title... And that is a maybe. New emmission laws and more pressure for MPGs down the road may choke off the race. I read an article (ZR1/SRT ACR thing) talking to the very fact that we may have reached the top of the mountain, at least for the next several years. I just hope we do not see another span like we did from the mid 70s to mid 80s...
Fords F150 will have a version of the new stang engine, I believe slightly detuned to about 400hp. It's a 5.0 liter so it's probably lighter then the hemi. I think they are also going to put the eco-boost twin turbo 6 in the 150, will be interesting to see what the performance will be when they come out. I know one thing for sure, the F150 pimped out with a decent motor will cost much more $$ then I spent for my truck, + I like the ram better.

Sounds like a nice combo.I drove a ford 4.6 before I bought my "real" truck and it was a turd. I have always liked ford, and chevy for that matter. Truth be told dodge was willing to give me a deal I couldn't refuse and i'm glad because I am truely in love with my 4th gen.

Well let me get pedantic... MAKE is the present tense of the verb, so what ford was doing in the 60's is not strictly relevant.

Also the poster in question said that he meant 4.6

Finally 289 may equal 4.7 but no one ever call it that so I stand by my statement...

I will be more specific in future.

The eco-boost will be the standard issue, the 5.0 will be an upgrade. That tt v-6 is bad ***, a local guy is running 12s in a SHO with just a tune. The SHO weighs almost 100lbs more than a similarly equipped 300C!

The Raptor is supposed to be getting a 400hp 6.2 basically right now, but that keeps getting delayed. That truck is sick, but the 5.4 that is in it now is a dog.

As I said earlier, the ram might be quicker than the Mustang if you get a slight jump on him up to about 50 60 mph, but ultimately the Mustang will win on the long stretch. I beat alot of quick cars off the line but I do cheat abit. I sit back about 5 to 10 ft then start to roll forward when the light changes yellow then I just punch it.

True, But when someone says that they stomped a gt, You think, newer models like 01-09 (yes i know two different body styles) but I didnt see anywhere where he had a year, I also thought it was a typo, Although I did just skim.

Our car will not hook, Even with the street slicks down on 18-20 psi. I dont even see how someone will be able to drive this in rain, Because you know some idiot will, This car is kinda heavy, It does 0-6 in 3.8sec spinning tires pretty good, 12.78 at 128mph in the 1/4 according to the g-meter in the car, so yea if the new gt's will hook they will be really fast. just my 2 cents.

400HP in the Raptor is not going to take a Hemi Ram, at least in my head. But makes for a mean off road truck.
