what was the date that they started putting them with every truck that come with a trailer hitch because my 2010 has a hitch and no brake controller and does any one have a part number for ordering it from the dealer?

When I ordered mine w/ the trlr hitch, it didn't come with a controller. It was an option as well. Did this change recently?

My 10/09 build didnt have the controller and I have the optional 335.00 class IV hitch. The controller is still a 230.00 separate option on Dodge.com.

Okay I could be wrong but when I built a truck online tosee the price drop when I added the hitch it automatically added the brake controller. It is possible I may have had to add it...........not sure but it had one at the end. I fact I added a sunroof which I dont have, the 800 dollar stereo upgrade, nav, leather, trailer tow mirrors(could be how it happened) anyway all that stuff I don't have and my window sticker for my truck now is a grand higher than the one I built. They are giving 7 grand in incentives, plus 2.9 percent financing, but variable rate for up to 7 years. I wish I could dump mine and order the one I built..That was also 392 gears, crew cab, even step tubes out of the factory, uconnect and and sat and rear screen even. just not the cool box with the compartments. I feel I got ripped since I got the early build and missed out on locking tailgate and a few other things and then they lower the price and add a bunch of stuff that I wanted. Well only thing is I havent' had the problems guys have been having, my box is straight, no noises so far (one year in a month).

Sorry guys I did add that brake controller separate I forgot I was adding so many things. I redid the build...at Dodge.ca

no biggie, thought maybe they changed the package. But yea, the '09s kind of the got the short end on a few things but thats usually how it is when you buy the first year.

If I would have ordered I would have bought the trailer controller and 3.92s just for the LSD but I didnt so I got what I got. But at least the controller works on mine and it costs less then the factory option so I cant complain too much.

I'm not that impressed with the NAV/traffic and rear sat TV in my Jeep so I didnt want it in this truck. But I'm happy with the REN radio and it will play DVDs while driving if I buy a lockpick so the wife and kids can watch something on a trip if need be.

Look closely at the harness as it is probably taped to it. Should also be grey in color and slightly smaller in size than the one you found.

When was your truck built? There is a guy that has a very early build and said he only had 1 plug. But he got it to work by connecting the second plug to the proper wires. I'd still first look a little closer at the harness as he is the only one that hasn't been able to find the second plug.

Build date is 9-09. I will check again but I could not find it. It should be on the same bundle as the other on? I looked around at others too. Did the other guy post a how to somewhere on what he tied in to?

It was taped to the top of the harness where the other plug was. Do you have the factory class iV hitch? Maybe they dont have the extra wiring if it doesnt have the hitch, who knows.
