Yeah, I have the factory hitch. I am thinking maybe this is just another example of the badges. They put in whatever they had kicking around at the time? And luck has it, I only got one plug? Pisses me off, I really like the look of the OEM unit, and now I have one, but can't get it to work. Grrr......

Anyone need a controller?

Since your's is a 2010, you can make it work. But you'll have to hardwire the second plug.

Any idea what to? I have heard it can be done, but can find no info anywhere on what to wire it to.

I just looked at mine, I thought it was 10/09 but its 9/09 as well. Do you have the 315.00 optional hitch or the standard one? Be nice to figure out why mine has both plugs and yours doesnt.

Default 2005 Ram 1500 Brake Controller

My truck has the trailer tow package but didn't have the brake controller. I was wondering if dodge had a factory OEM Brake Controller that goes in my dash. Like the 2500's did. I wish not to mount a controller underneath the dash. Does anyone knows of the part numbers or if this can even be done?

Dont mean to hijack but I have an '09 with the old wiring harness. Could I pick up an aftermarket brake controller like a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller and use it with out any big issues?

Yes, and there are a few threads on how people have mounted them. I run a P3 in my 2009 and it plugs right in if you buy the Tekonsha dodge ram harness.
