Had the recall done a little while back. No cost to me.

Before the recall, my rear end went out and they rebuilt the rear end without any cost to me.
Lifetime powertrain warranty covered it.

Default Finally Done

Well after waiting 7 months my NO8 repair was completed last week , they verified the torque setting
on the pinion nut and installed a retainer ,one less worry while driving .

Yup, just got back from having mine done. Pretty painless. In and out in less than an hour.

Truthfully I wasn't all that concerned about it, there are far more dangerous things to worry about on the road than this recall issue.

I received a recall about the same issue on the pinion nut. Dealer had the parts and took about 15 minutes to fix. No charge since it was a recall.

15 minutes? LOL, so in other words they just looked at it with a flashlight....

No way you can remove a driveshaft install the retainer and install new propeller bolts in 15 minutes....

You sure could. How long would it take you to remove 4 bolts?

Remove 4 bolts, check nut, put retainer on nut and reinstall 4 bolts. You could have a sip of coffee and still be under 15.

09 sport quad cab 4x4. 45k miles 4-1/2yrs driving it.

had the recall done. mine was ok, but they autmatically fix it anyway they say?

anyway. while they were there i noticed my out put shaft seal was leaking. they also found a cracked weld on the yoke? so i got a new drive shaft, and input/output seals on the transfer case. all under lifetime.... anyone else seen this?

Just got the retainer installed, fairly painless.
While I was there, I had them replace the plugs (OEM non-platinum) and service the transmission (new filter, fluids and seal) for $415 tax included - not a bargain, but not worth my time.
I'm just past 5yrs since date of manufacture and at 40K miles.
Battery kicked the bucket a month ago, btw.
Got the 5yr inspection coming up in June.
