RADIO and BACKUP CAMERA PROBLEM on a new 2014
Hey All,
Not sure if I posted this or not (I certainly meant to, but life happens). Nonetheless, I can confirm that the problem appears to be a fault in the input module located in the arm rest. I determined this after plugging in a 1/8" stereo cable, which I leave plugged in at all times (with nothing connected to the other end). This resolves the problem of the input erratically glitching to Aux.
Interestingly, I told my dealer this the moment I brought my truck in to repair. I work in the electronics/instrumentation, and I know a bad ground when I see one.
Anyway, this 'temporary' fix (leaving 1/8" cable plugged in) works in my case, so be sure to give it a try.
Also, please let us all know if replacing the input module in the arm rest actually fixed the problem for you. Perhaps one of these days I will find the time to do the same.
Thanks.

Hope your not being lied to or hope I am. My dealer told me they are on back orsder till june. Chrysler said they will call me next week and try to get one expidited within 30 days
So I have spent a year dealing with issues on our new ram 2500!! It started with the radio flipping and the only fix is to have the plug in the arm rest replaced. Problems continued with additional electrical issues until we had to invoke the lemon law and we find out that Chrysler does not pay for after market items like the spray Berliner we had done thru the dealership and our dealership is not willing to compensate us either so we are out over $1500 not happy about that. So good luck and don't let them tell u anything else will fix the radio problem but the plug.
I had the same problem and after bringing it to two dealerships I called a friend of mine that works for dodge, he replaced the auxiliary adapter in the middle arm rest compartment. I have not had any switching back and forth since.

You paid 1500.00 for a spray in bed liner.....Man they saw you coming a mile away
I also think that a spray in bed liner came as standard equipment on the new dodges.....at least mine did You should check out your window sticker and see if its standard equipment and then see what your dealer says. Mine is a 2014 1500 but I really don't see any difference why a 2500 should be any different as far as standard equipment goes

Maybe a sprayed-in bedliner was standard on some versions of the Express, but it was not standard equipment on all trim lines. It wasn't on my 2014.

I have a new 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 and the same problem occurs with something in the usb port or without it. The radio switches to Aux input and back again to radio from AM, FM or satellite radio all by itself. Contacted Chrysler customer support and they state they have never heard or the problem. Booked into the dealer and they verified all of the updates are current and they have no solution.
My problems with my 2014 Ram 4X4 went from bad to worst. From the Radio problems, to the connection to phones not working properly through the portal, , to the door locking by itself whenever it wanted too, to the mechanism constantly on and off while driving. After 10 months of hell....I ended up having to call the Ram Division to work out a deal on another one. Plus they paid me back equivalent to 3 months payments for all my troubles. Prior to this, I had a Dodge 1500 and had it for 9 years without one problem. So I know they are good trucks. So, we purchased another one; and believe it or not...no problems with this one. Thankfully it was made at a different facility than the first one. They certainly know about the problems...now what they are willing to do about it...that is another thing. You have to stand your ground with them. But in the end...they did me right.
