Nice, I'm glad i could help. Yea there is a lot I wish i did differently because it was my first build. But for your back wall, make sure your MDF is completely flat against the sheet metal with no deadening behind it. The amps will hit the back seats if it isn't and make sure your amps are low profile if you want the seat bottoms to be folded up. Also, I would run your RCA dow the middle, power down the driver side and speaker either on the driver or passenger. Oh and for fiber glassing, I would just do the whole thing in the truck. Just a small layer of fiberglass can crack and break in half since the enclosure is so big. And just a heads up, you'll be saying every cuss word in the book and some made up ones if you try running your speaker wires through the stock door jam boots. Just drill small holes with rubber grommets and wrap the wire with electrical tape then that plastic hose stuff.

Looking good. Words of wisdom... be prepared to lose it all lol. Just got broken into last night and all my audio was stolen. Just a reality check I guess.

kx250rider... The amps i have are 2.5" by themselves. Add the 1/2" MDF and theres no possible way the back seats will fold all the way up. I'm over it. They'll fold up enough to be able to unhook the rear of the seat to fold down so i can get to the amps (rear seat mod). Thats exactly how i planned to do my wiring layout, which is why i havent put the carpet back in yet.

Didnt have any issues gettin the boot apart in the door jambs. I'll be making it look completely factory with the wiring. I'll take pics when i hook up the wires (although the boot and connector are already apart)

nozmadd, thanks for the vote of confidence. sorry your system got stolen. I live in one of the lowest crime areas in the nation. I'm not terribly worried about it. Besides, thats why i have insurance.

You have a 03 like me, the back doors is impossible to run through the stock boots. The wires go through a plug right where the boot meets the door.

yep. the fronts are like that too. i didnt have any issues gettin the plug out of the boot.

Heres todays first update (no pics, those come tonight). Got the first layer of fiberglassing done. I only bought a gallon of resin and its definitely not gonna be enough. I didnt wanna buy more than I needed, cause at $70 a gallon, it aint cheap stuff. The initial layer was fleece. I glued it to the masking tape using spray adhesive and it formed really well. I used 1/2 gallon plus 8 ounces of resin on the initial soaking. Considering I have just under 1/2 gallon left to do 4-6 layers of fiberglassing mat, I'll need at least another quart. Also, the resin apparently deactivates the spray adhesive because it started coming up as i was putting down the resin... not cool. These are all lessons that hopefully someone else will benefit from in the future.
