hey the idea of replies to problems it to be so completely off base that no-one has a clue how to solve the problem posted by the OP. Like getting totally off track on a non-relevant issue.

Oh and if you stack up various issues, you sure can get to a 50% loss of fuel economy.

I disagree. Not without having severe drivability issues

So the guy's engine runs fine in the first post. So explain why would he have a 50% reduction of fuel mileage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! without a driveability issue!!!!!

You guys already smashed the $hit out of me for suggesting brake drag!!!

Do you honestly believe that you could experience a 50 percent drop in mileage without a hint of a problem?

I personally don't!

Perhaps he is one of the clueless people you so kindly described in your earlier post and doesn't know how to calculate gas mileage.

It wouldn't pass an inspection or emission test.

Sorry OP for the slam. I can't imagine what could cause such poor mpg without some signs to the driver.

BTW. I have never heard of any synthetic oils causing sludge in an engine. Quite the contrary actually
