Have 2000 grand caravan sport 3.3l engine 41te 4 speed transmission just out of blue transmission starting acting up. was told forward gears went away. When I got to vehicle had no reverse and neutral was like it was in park can not roll car in neutral. forward gears the car wanted to move. put on trailer brought home did some reading. first change fluid and filter there was some metal shavings. second changed in and out speed sensors. third changed TCM and transmission solenoid. forth checked linkage. No change still car is still on trailer cause No reverse no neutral to get it off. Any ideas internal problem.

The planetary gear in the may have snap all the way round the gear and thats why you don't reverse or forward gears. Recommend a reman transmission, unless you want to repair the box yourself?

 

I have forward gears but no reverse and neutral is like its in park. so I can not get it off the trailer.

 

Turn key off in neutral, does the van roll now?

 

no the van still does not roll in neutral. just got brave jack front care up on trailer. found out van only has first gear will not shift to any other gear. in reverse moved very little. in neutral could move tire by hand forward easily but backwards some resistance but could still move it.

 

where are u located? would u want to sell the van?

 

why would you want to buy the van? I am in the north east

 

your too far. if u were within 200 miles of me, I'd jump on buying it. I buy as many of these vans with bad trannys. your problem is an ez fix for me, about 4hrs labor and no cost on part except trans fluid and some gaskets (about $40 for me). I sell them as fast as I get'm. when people see me towing them home, buyers are lining up to get it as soon as it's done.

Master tech basicly clued you into the problems inside the trans. it is NOT going to be a 5 min internet fix!
