Default Dodge CHARGER Accident & Questions

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and the Charger.
I have always been a fan of the look of the Charger and was super excited when I had to rent a car for work and they gave me a Charger (black, my favorite color). Drove it for a week, was happy with it. Then a Honda Civic going the opposite direction on a 4 lane road decided to make a left turn in front of me. He had stopped and I was going approx 35 mph. I hit his front passenger side bumper and spun him around to where our tires were almost side by side. His Honda was totaled and his airbags went off. My airbags did not go off.He was injured (face, leg & back). I was hurt too and still sore. But I must say Iam SUPER IMPRESSED with how the Charger held up. I know I was safer because I was in this car!
Currently I drive a smaller car and because of this accident I want to trade it in for a larger vehicle. My concern is the reliability of the Charger. I tend to keep my cars at least 8 years. Will it last that long? I had Chrysler cars before 86' New Yorker and 90' Reliant. Both were terrible cars and did not make it past 90K miles.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks So Much!
Beth

The charger has been holding upso far, I have not seen any major problems. The only problems i have seen is the adapter housing on the nag1 trans and the rocker shaft assy on the 3.5 engine.

Well Mrs Beth - so far I have had no problems with my 06. I have around 20,000 miles in it. Every car has little things that go wrong with them , but so far nothing like the cars back the day.Back then they were looking to cut costs and get by. Now they know that people keep their cars longer and with places like these forums they have to do better. I have the R/T with the Hemi and so far the only problem I have is warped front brake rotors and rear tires that wear out, but that is my fault, lolol.
Hope you were not hurt too bad and recoperate fast !!

I have had my Charger for two years. I have had no issues with the exception of one thing that is ongoing and appears to be a problem with either all Chargers are mainly the Daytona. Due to the small HP increase I think Dodge failed to make an allowance for the rotors.Ihave had to change the rear breaks already and the front are only 45 percent used. I had to have all four rotors turned and the shop, O'Reily was surprised that they were that warped.I beleive they can not even be resurfaced again. That is fine by me. I will purchase better after market rotors and be done with that problem.

Well, I believe the new ones now have a "life time" warranty. Not sure what all it covers, co-payments, etc., but you could check with a dealer on this.

Oh, yeah, no problems with mine except the rear, passenger side window keeps not wanting to work .

..in the first thumbnail the traffic officer in the back ground looks like the ice creamman with the white uniform shirt and the white cover.

OK, talked to the claims adjuster today and the car is 'totaled' according to Enterprise. Meaning that they will not put it back in their fleet. But they do intend on repairing it and selling it. The body shop estimate is $2665.00 in damages.
This makes much more sense!
Again, I am impressed with the way it held up.
Also, got back from the doc and possible I have a hip stress fracture. Definately have pain.

Well....just and FYI.[/align]
