.......

Just so you know, the above is from the MP Engines Manual. It pertains to the Mopar Performance Products sold in the late 80's.
I mounted my ECU on the radiator support.
Get the recommended coil for the system. A "race" coil (such as P3690560) may not be compatible with the ECU.

Verify continuities for the ECU plug prior to install.
It would be a good idea to have a spare ECU stowed for on board JIC so your not calling for the flatbed hauler to get ya' home.

FWIW, there are a lot of cheap knock off ECUs in the "orange box" dressing out in the the market. Some even have a phony transistor with nothing inside it to retain the look. They have a high failure rate IMO.
That said, I don't know what the current MP licensed stuff make up is like.

Thanks for the input.....The kit I ordered was from a seller on Ebay so Im sure its a knock off....but I didnt want to spend a lot of money until I know for sure what the problem is. Once I get this beast up and running, I will upgrade every thing!

This is the site from the kit I ordered: http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayI...rsion=84bfee84

Wow....got some great news yesterday about my Coronet! I recently joined a forum on FB for early B bodies and found one of the original owners of my Coronet!! I spoke with him on the phone and got a whole lot of great info on the car and its build. It was actually in Hot Rod magazine in Oct. 1997 (I already purchased a copy from a seller on ebay.... ) Turns out it was actually owned by Reggie Jackson, but only for a very short time. He is sending me a photo album of the original build.....I cant wait to get it....

The first pictures of your car seemed familiar but after all these years and the number of vehicles I've dealt with it could have been a different car. I remember Reggie Jackson had several cars that went to auction and a writer got to drive one. It showed several of the cars and he recounted how the Firebird he was driving kept dying since he didn't keep the engine speed up.

The kid got missed by Sally too. It's the 4th time in 3 years she's had to evacuate from military housing due to Hurricanes.

Ok...got the new electronic ignition temp wired up, but I could not get fuel from the tank to the carb so I could only run for a few seconds with fuel poured into the carb bowl. Replaced the fuel filter, which looked like it could have been the original one, and blew out the fuel line and now she runs and idles great! Just needs to be fine tuned.

Here's a crappy video I made of the first run....

I'd check the rubber lines on the fuel system. The rubber is probably old and today's fuel with ethanol eats some rubber products up quick. I put a new fuel pump on a Jeep once and it last a week before it failed.
