I neglected to mention the anodizing. That in of itself is much more impressive than the lame stock airboxes slightly modified all you guys seem to think are so great. Once the REAL mods start happening, we'll see who has the best intake system, and not just dragging, between stoplights.

I'll post a picture when I find a better one.

Oh,
Someone got their panties in a wad!

I guess all that anodizing make it work better, go faster?

I mean, if it isnt color cordinated, then it cant be a "real" performance part?

You do give free stickers out with your stuff, right?

By the way, I responded to your rude and obnoxous email.

And I really dont give a tin crap what you get a degree in, any time you want to come on down to Houston, and go railroading with me, I can show you what grown ups do for a living.

Let you lose back in the round house, and see if you can figure out how to make a 1500hp, 224,000 lb locomotive behave.

And is jerk the best insult you could come up with?

I thought a educated guy like you could do better!

Got a real name, or still hiding behind the phantom moniker?

Yeah, big man. I don't care what you do for a living either.

I could have called you something more than "jerk" but see, that seems to always get people going, because it's sooooo discriptive and TRUE.

Let's see, I was member of the Air National Guard for a hair over 6 years including deployments as an Electronic Warfare Technician. I was a government contractor for a year and a half. I have a BS in Chemistry, going to start a grad degree in that field. I've been reworking a Grand AM from the ground up. And I just turned 25 a week ago. So I've done a few things… and this is a very short list.

My full legal name is Thomas William McGill III. I'm sure Tom or McGill or twmcgill3@excite.com has been places somewhere on this site.

Anything else you'd like to know, oh god of the trains and MGs? I must have struck a REAL nerve seeing as you couldn't even keep that correspondence private.

The anodizing is for looks (duh) some people might like that.... ya think? Something you don't get with the others.

How much do those pens cost ya? I willing to make a bet it's a better percentage than this CAI. But it comes in CUSTOM COLORS, because you need that on a pen right?

MY obnoxious email with his even worse reply. Shows you what he knows about engines and intakes.

Whoope....
You might try a anger management class too...
Got a really good idea what intakes are made out of...have several MGBs with
custom made and milled intakes for dual Webber carbs...
And your CAI really wont make any real difference on the Hemi...just a lot
more noise.

Thanks jerk. It appears you don't have a clue about what the best intakes
are made out of.

I am not the diseal mechanice, and mandrel bent aluminum tubing cut to order
isn't the cheapest thing either. Yeah, the margins are ok, but do you
realize how much anything takes to make? The immediate answer is no.

Anyway, I'm not a disel mechanic, Ty is. I'm not the same person at all.
I'm a chemist about to start attending a graduate program.

And some people take themselves way to seriously!
Glad you managed to do something worthwhile with your life.
I suggested you take a anger management course along with your next class...
guess it would be a waste of money, though....

I was a investigator for the State of Texas, Office of the Attorney General, for 8 years.
Before that, I owned and ran two auto parts stores,
did a frame off on a 51 ****** All Steel Station wagon, (the woody one), forgot how many MGBs, owned a Jag, have a 95 Wrangler, a 99 Durango, the Magnun, the 51 ******, been to Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Iraq, the Sudan, Egypt, lots of places....
And I turned 46 this year, so I too have been around a while and done quite a few things.

You might want to read the entire posting I made, and the one that followed, where I pointed out that if someone wants to buy your product, I suggest they do so...If they like it and want it, thats what this car is for, no one really bought it because they planned on hauling ladders and 2X4s in the back, they bought it because it was fun, and if you product makes it even more fun, great.
But you dont seem to have read that part.
What I also pointed out was it isnt to hard to make the exact same thing, and I have several shops down here that can color the tube any way you want.
You might want to investigate getting someone to extrude you a poly or styrofoam sleeve to cover the tube, might reduce heat transfer from the rad and engine.

Still want to play pissing contest?

And don't you guys have anything better to do than bitch and moan on the internet? It makes me wonder. I do this about once every couple of months out of sheer bordem. Seems like a way of life for you.

So..... in the end... I designed a CAI for the FX platform. It is a good product. It gains anwhere from 10-15 wHP on a dyno through 6 runs over stock. It can be custom colored and it's simply nicer looking in my personal opinion than any of the plastic boxes. I don't even know if you can order this right now. I was simply coming back on to beat down these stupid posts that people have made asserting that you can make it out of scrap parts and Goodyear rubber and haven't been in the aftermarket world very long at all. Then they challenge my knowledge on how to do such things. Maybe the one problem with the internet, everyone gets a say, even if it doesn't have any logic or critical thinking done behind it.

With that said, flame away, I don't can't afford to care anymore. I don't do this for a living, and god help me if I have to.

Enjoy the intake if you get it.... it's nice addition to performance and looks.

I got a free intake from Ty (finished of course) along with oil filters.... um... K&N filters. I do this for fun, not for employment.

46 years old and you still have the mentality of a someone 20 years younger, my hat is off to you sir. Most people your age wouldn't have even bothered to post a comments like you did, but I guess age and wisdom just don't go together now a days.

And yes, I'll put my foot right next to yours. My kidneys are stronger.

Won't bother to list the number of vehicles I've had, about one a year for about 5 years or so. But I didn't do much other than routine stuff, so they are not worth mentioning.

Anger management? Who was so upset at the sight of the CAI I made that made them so, so, angry they had to post?

The sad part is, I'm really happy go lucky. I'm snickering at this whole series of posts. Please, don't stop. Haven't had this much fun on forums in a long time. Usually, it discuss this, have meaningful conversation about this or that...... but this ISN'T. It like talking poltics or religion, WITHOUT it. It's like arguing with people about something that is true, but they can't or won't believe it, because they somehow think that will change the truth.

Ty is working on it.

And if you where more objective from the begining, and not several posts down..... then I wouldn't have to be doing this. I don't take anything sitting down. Too many people do. I call them French.

Again,
Read the entire section, where I had a pleasent exchange with another person, and I suggested that if he wanted to buy your CAI, to do so...I stated that if the market is there, great, go for it...
told him if he wanted this product, fantastic, get one.

I dont remember calling you anything at all, although I did imply that it semed that for a person in business it seemed rather funny no one could reach the guy.
You wrote me, and called me a jerk....not the other way around.

I never challenged your knowledge or skill, you seem to be rather defensive about that small point, and quite ready to pound your own drum to get noticed.

What I did point out is that all the parts to fabricate the same thing, minus the pretty colors, is readily available to those who wish to make their own.

Apparently what set you off was my tounge in cheek attempt at humor, but then, at 25, your a little young too have developed a thick skin, or the ability to laugh at yourself.

Oh, and thanks for mentioning my pens....in fact, I did so well with them in the last two years, they paid for the Magnum!

As for debating a 25 year old, well, you seem to be pointing out that, due to your age and imaturity, it isnt worth it.

Your right.

Ed
