Warranty / Exhaust
just got my car back from BORLA! i let them use my car for some type of final adjustments to a new system they are releasing. i'm not sure what all the specifications are on this system. to me (an untrained eye) it looks like 2.5" piping, although i am not sure. i do know that this system has dual mufflers replacing the suitcase muffler and ends with 5" (angle cut) tips. all i can say is this systems sounds awesome!!!! its a DEEP clean throaty sound, without a hint of any type of "pops" or distortion. it gives me the chills how mean this thing sounds. also, under light load it has a subtle growl/droan and when the foot is off the pedal there is a no signs of droaning. i dont think my mother would know that i did anything different, unless of course i got on the throttle. performance wise, i can say that the RPMs shoot up much faster than before. i'm not sure of the actual gains in hp/torque etc... i know some people might not be too happy about the 5" tips, i myself am a bit hesitant, but i'm gonna give it shot for right now. they actually look really good with my wheels (22").
as for my experience with BORLA, i can say they run a class A business. there factory is HUGE, and these guys know what they are doing.
i will post a picture as soon as i can

Sounds very cool! Will you be able to post any audio/video as well as pic's ?
I came across SpinTech today, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Interesting theory anyway.
I stopped at what appears to be the only custom muffler shop in Cumming, GA and really didn't get good vibes from them - again. I had a Flowmaster 40 put on my Van a while back and I'm thinking I paid a little too dearly now, from reading what some of y'all have paid.
They carry Magnaflow as well as Flowmasters - I really like the looks - just wondering about the sounds...

My newest muffler shop was giving me the run around on getting in 2 small resonators or mufflers to replace the stock resonators. I already had the Flowmasters on from a different shop.
I got tired of waiting so I went back to my original shop and had the stock resonators removed, they were nice enough to let me test drive the car (no tailpipes) and it was not that loud. They welded in some new tailpipes and reused my stock exhaust tips and I am driving the car to see if I still like the sound. Final test will be on the highway at 70 MPH, to see how loud it is or any drone.
So far I like the new sound, Flowmasters with no resonators. It now sounds "healthy".
By a strange twist, another Magnum RT owner stopped by the muffler shop. He ha d the same problem, the car is just too quiet with stock exhaust. He must of bought one of the first Magnums out, he has owned it for almost 4 months now. We both had the same color, Magnesium Pearl. They looked good side by side.

Good move Bob. I'm sure the droning won't be too bad for you. I have droning in just a spot or two but a change in speed of just a few mph makes it go away. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the sound of my exhaust.

Will someone please explain the "drone" effect I have read about? If it is what I think it is, I have trouble believing that any aftermarket exhaust with good sound properties won't create some droning...
Droning is just that, the exhaust makes a droning noise that is really noticeable in the car at certain speeds, especially with all the windows up.
A few more RPM's (up or down) and the noise goes away.
More of a nuisance, that can be corrected by a good muffler shop. They usually add a small resonator or muffler to make it sound better.
Droning is like a vibration in the muffler system or exhaust. If you have it, you will know it.
Usually occurs at highway speeds, say 65 to 75 MPH. Just where you want to cruise.

here are some pics.
p.s. i find this system has a bit of droan on light load acceleration from about 1800-2500 rpm. i find highway cruising speeds to be quite comfortable with noise levels close to the stock system.

That's an interesting look - not real sure yet if I'd go that big on the tips - you definately know it isn't stock!
I have the 'dreaded drone' with my V6 Dodge Ram 2500 Conversion Van, it's downright annoying, but then it's a six,
with a single 1-into-2 Flowmaster 40, so I guess it was to be expected.
Even the stereo has to work to mask it - but dang, does it sound nice at idle and for about 60-70% of the driving I do.
At idle you'd swear it was a V8
