Warranty / Exhaust
Well...I did it....I went with two series 40 Flowmasters. I had the work done
yesterday. Sounds real good. The only changes with the RT is the exhaust
and a K&N air filter.
I do have a question to the others that have made the same exhaust mod:
Have you noticed any sluggishness at low rpm's or has it alway been there,
I did not notice til now. It does not happen all the time, but once in a while.

Took the Magnum back to the exhaust shop yesterday....while on the freeway at 65 to 70, it was
very loud inside the car, especially with the windows up. Yesterday, the shop added a 12" glasspack
in front of the each exhaust tip. For me, it is much better.....it still growls when when of those
blue ovals gets too close.
On a not so related note....while on the way home, the Calif Highway Patrol was doing traffic
control, at which time I had a short wait. It seems there was a commercial being filmed.
When the traffic was let go, we were stopped again by CalTrans, resurfacing the road. Not so
bad, where I had to stop was right across from the film crew, which all stopped what they were
doing to look at the Inferno Red Magnum I was driving. Another highway patrolman was
standing there as well. One of the crew members yelled across to me, "How fast have you
had it?" My reply, "I don't think it would be a good idea to say." Well, that seemed to get a
laugh out of the crew. At which time the officer came over to talk. He asked how I liked it,
stuff like that. Then, he said, "We are getting Hemi's next year!" He told me they were getting
sedan versions of the Magnum....and he made sure to make it clear, they were not getting 300's.
I thought that was real interesting.....
Thanks for allowing me to share,

For now my stock resonators are still on, with the Flowmasters series 40. Next week I may remove the stock resonators and do what you did, add a straight through resonator or small glass pack muffler.
I want some sound, but not too loud, especially with the windows up and on the highway.
On a bad note, Hurricane Charley is knocking on my door outside.
Looks like it will miss us and go south of us, we will still get a lot of rain and wind, but hopefully no house damage.
The RT is tucked inside the garage as I type.

Hey Bob.....I hope all is well in Florida....and you were able to "dodge" the storm....or the storm dodged you,
either way I hope you are ok.
I drove around a couple extra miles, the exhaust seems to be where I like it. Having the 12" glass
packs back there made a huge difference. The car seems to run smoother than without them. The
interior "drone" has been cut down more than half. We talked about going with 15" glass packs, but
the fit would have been very tight.
I know others have gone with the two chamber Flowmasters, however, for me, it was too load inside
the car at highway speeds. Since Bob has 20 years on me, I won't even imply it's an age thing.

Rex,
Age is just a number, you are as young as you feel.
I still love fast cars, always will.
People freak out when I park in the handicap parking spaces, can't us old farts drive nice cars?
Yes, I am on disability, have been for the last ten years.
Had to give up motorcycles, but I can still drive better than most average drivers.
Over the hill, but on a roll.

Bob,
Apologies....if anyone is feeling the effects of being old.....it is me.
I was not directing my comments to anyone but myself, sometimes
I have trouble with my words, and I take it for granted that others
with understand my mindless ramblings.
Again, Bob, and anyone else that I have offended, I am truly sorry.

Hey Rex,
Lighten up on yourself, no offense was taken. I know I am old and I laugh at myself all the time. That is the beauty of getting old, you don't care what people say, you just do your own thing. The heck with the rest of the world.
As I have said before, the body ages but the mind doesn't. I still feel young inside, it is the outside of the old body that aches, LOL.
The only thing that really ticks me off, is knowing that I know how to do stuff, I just can't do it because I don't move the same anymore.
I used to do all my own repairs and oil changes, now I just take the car to a shop and let them do it. By the time I get the car jacked up for an oil change, I am too tired to do the work. LOL
Life is short, enjoy it while you can.

I finally found a good muffler shop near me in Florida, but they had to order parts that I needed. Will go back there on Thursday to have my stock resonators removed and have short straight through resonators put on in their palce. I already have the Flowmasters on.
They will run the car with just the Flowmasters to see if it is too loud, and will put on the short resonators if I need them.
Great guys to deal with,
Bob
