I elected to plumb the FASS into my existing fuel filter to maintain the (electric) heater and water sensor.

nope, I've got to drive to tacoma tomarrow, will be down there thurs and fri. Kinda sucks, I could have started on it and be driving my brothers truck back and forth to work if it wasn't for training
. I've been looking under the hood and I think I am going to try to mount the pump where the stock filter is, looks like there is enough room there, we'll see saturday though. I also got to go to schwab and have 2 tires replaced. they won't balance out so they are replacing them for free.

I do a lot of off road and gravel road hauling and I don't want to take any chances with the filters. As for being easy on the pump, if the stocker can make it 90k up there this thing will have no problems, plus 6 year warrenty
I really don't have a need for a heater, the temps rarly drop below 18F out here so I'm not using a heater. Also as drew said, the vp44 heats the fuel. If you are concerned though, I would run it through your now empty stock fuel canister as you had described. Right now I'm trying to find a fleetgaurd fuel seperator with a wif sensor in it that will thread to the filter head. I know they make them, I'll just have to find them.
Oh ... I thought you were going to run the coolant lines to the FASS for some reason.
Isn't 18F considered cold to you? I was reading the manual and it says the fuel heater kicks on at temps below 40.

18F is coul out here, but it's dairly common to see those temps in winter. My theory is if the fuel isn't jelling I don't need a heater
. Now having said that, it won't take more than $5 in hose and 15minutes to run coolant lines if it's in the engine compartment[sm=confused06.gif]
