on all of the big rigs, they tee off of the heater core lines. I want to change my t-stat and coolant, so maybe now is a good time, they've only been sitting on the shelf for 3 months now

hmmmm ....

I think I'll just run the line to the canister and call it a day. Do you think it'll hook right up, or will I need some sort of different fittings to run it that way?

Are these new fuel lines the same size as the stock ones?

love the silicon hoses I would recommend them to everyone. I think you need to get different fittings for the fuel canister. Yours is a different style canister than mine.

I don't think it matters, I believe yours are bango fittings, you'll need to swap them out (the inlet one) with the barbed hose fitting

You're right. I'm looking at the manual right now. How difficult do you think it's going to be to find the right fitting? Do you think the one that came with the FASS will work, or is that wishfull thinking?

The banjo fitting supplied by FASS will fit into the inlet side of the fuel filter canister. No need to find a new one.

Thanks Rev !!!

You know what ... I'm an azzho7e.

I was looking at the instructions ( which show the install on a 2002-04 ), and I was looking at thatFAT servicemanual that my dad gave me when I bought the truck from him. NONE of it jived with what I thought my truck looked like and panic was setting in. When I actually sat down last night and READ the FAT manual it said that the manual was for EARLY 98's. Mine is the LATER 24 valve, so I was right. I then remembered that with that fat manual my dad gave me a couple of other books as well. One of the books was a SUPPLEMENT to the fat manual and WA-LA, it covers the later 98's .... MINE !!!

Looking at the pictures it LOOKS like the fitting going to the VP-44 is the same fitting as the supply fitting to the canister. Yep, they're banjo's. FASS didn't supply me with a banjo, but the gave me an adapter that you screw in with an o-ring on it and then a barbedelbow that screws onto that. I think I'm going to be fine.

My plan is to run the line from the FASS to the supply line on the canister and then the fuel will go from the canister to the VP-44. I'm going to remove the filter from the canister. It'll give me one less thing to maintain and I honestly don't think I'll be needing it. I'm afraid of causing a possible restriction on the FASS by leaving it in. The reason I'm going this route is to keep the WIF sensor working ( and wet ) and to also still be able to use the fuel heater.

I was planning on pre-filling ( priming ) all of the filters and canister bowl before trying to start the truck. Good idea? Any other suggestions you have I'm all ears.

Thanks again !!
