Default belt noises

well on the way to maine about a week ago...i noticed the belt was making some noises. today i got it back from the dealer up here after having the fuel leak fixed and noticed it again and forgot i didnt tell them to fix it. does this mean my belt is gone or is it just dry or what? what makes it do that?

last time my belt made any noise, the tension pulley had seized and burned the belt off.

is there anyway that there is the chance that because of the noise the belt is close to snaping or breaking.....i have to drive back to NC on Tuesday and that would just suck for that to happen!

meh, its not a big deal. If you think its time to change it, go for it. It doesnt take more than a few minutes. Just release the tension with a wrench on the automatic tensioner, throw the new one on, tightener her back up and you're good to go

Buy the belt while there, and carry it back with you. Nothing sucks more than being stuck in the middle of no where with a broke belt!
