Default Which Diesel Tuner?

I have heard lots of things on these tuners, please vote and then tell me why that is your choice. I am hoping this will help me make a decision. These things aren't cheap so I want to get the best that I can.
These are the ones I am thinking about.......mostly due to the price.

I'm gunna go ahead and say it. . .go with the edge w/monitor. if your new to diesels, or new to hopping them up it is safe and gives you all the gages.

I voted Edge attitude. That's what I have. If I had gauges I would have gotten a Smarty. The Edge has some safety features built in to defuel itself if you aren't paying attention. It also has a cooldown timer built in. The Smarty has some neat programming options that the Edge doesn't. It's just a matter of what suits you best. Sorry can't help it's like 6 of one and a half dozen of the other.

I perfer a set of gauges over any of the montiors...

So I really can vote on this one... I would say a Edge Comp and Gauges... Simple set up and to the point. I'm getting good MPG and HP/TQ numbers both...

I've pondered this very same thing.

Drew, I agree with you about the Edge, which I do someday want to get, however, since the poll says "Smarty Sr + Gauges" would you personally think the Smarty out performs the Edge? I'm wondering for my own benefit as well...

well. . .I would say smarty Sr + gages, but unless you know when to back out of it. . .and sometimes I have a problem with that. . .you may run hot enough to burn up the turbo.

the edge will defuel for you if your boost or EGT's get too high.

At just shy of $4.00/gal, I've not been having a lot of trouble keeping my foot out of it... 'Course, if it was there...

I too like having seperate gauges other than an all in one thing. I have an Edge Comp box with Autometer gauges.
