2003 Rams - The Forgotten Club
Greg, You could buy a spare tire mount bracket and vinyl tire cover and mount it in flat or 25 degrees in the Bed near the front, just a thought. Do you have one of those Fiberglass tonneau covers? can't tell if your bed is open.
Welcome new members, like I always say. Tell us about your trucks.
I was playing with the new DSP and discovered that the adjusted tune I did for my stock tune was carried over to the canned tunes, ie. 93 tune and the 91 tune. I had thought that when I went from the modified stock tune to the canned 93 tune I would be starting from scatch with only the standard 93 tune installed. As posted before I was getting a lot of knock with the 93 tune and went to the 91 tune to run clean. Well I checked this morning and found the adjustments I made earlier had been applied to the 91 tune. No wonder the 93 tune was knocking. I'm going to make a run on straight 91 tune and then re-install a straight 93 tune to compare. With all that said, those of you who are using the DSP, are you using straight canned tunes or are you tweeking them?

I was running a straight 93 tune for about 2 weeks before I installed the cam and went custom tuned. It could have very well been the pcm reset, but I felt a whole lot more kick out the 93 DSP than i did the 91 SC. Again, it was most likely just the pcm reset but i guess i'll never know.
My truck has felt faster in the past than it does now. But that can happen when you are throwing mods at it fair quickly. You start doubting your own instincts. I have a problem come up maybe someone can help with. I was changing tunes the other day and my ABS icon (dash) stayed on after I finished the installing the tune. I backed out of my carport and it went off. Earlier today I changed tunes again and the ABS icon stayed on again. I backed up and never went out. I re-installed the tune and it's still there. I pulled the PCM fuse fore a reboot and the ABS icon remained. Re-installed the stok tune and it remains. Now I re-installed the canned 93 tune and it remains. Any suggestions? It appear directly associated with the DSP tune install. This can't be good. Some good news is I have a tuning center about 60 miles away, Maybe I can go talk with them next week.
Update: The ABS warning light is a known problem for DSP using dr03 firm ware. Supposely the dr04 upgrade corrected the problem. I have dro4 firm ware in my DSP, supposely this isn't suppose to happen with my DSP. I just installed the latest firm ware and will test it tomorrow. Wish me luck...
Update #2: I reloaded my original tune in the truck and downloaded the most recent version into the DSP. Reloaded the 93 canned tune and made a quick change for tire hieght. Still have the amber warning light. Backed up 40' (this cleared it once before) and then drove about a 1/4 mile. Turned it off/on. Backed up about 100', still have the warning light. Drove it for another 8 miles to warm everything up. Got home, tapped the housing, for luck, pumped the brakes, they feel good. Still have the ABS amber warning light, Will call DSP Tuesday. This is a DSP related problem and I can tell you that the revised firmware has not fixed this known problem.
Update #3: Been exchanging emails and CROM with MikeL from DSP. He has a Quick reset for ABS. He thought he sent it to me but when loaded into my tuner the menu was missing. Will continue to look for solution tomorrow. Found new paint shop. I think these guys are going to be really good. Plan to take the truck in next Monday.

Wow. I never saw this post. Lol. But my truck is a 2003 Ram 1500 regular cab. It has a Hemi that is pretty much stock. I have installed drop shackles and removed overload springs, debadged her, TMR delete, and put on a thrush muffler with a turn down above the rear axle. Hoping to tint the windows soon and pick up a tuner.

My 03 does this every time that I reset the PCM. I do not have a tuner, but the ABS light will stay on after I start the truck until I back out of the driveway. I figured that it was just something in the computer until the truck is driven and it starts to "learn" again.
Hey guys, thanks for the input. The first time I used the DSP and I got the light. It went out when I moved the truck. But this last time I went through everything /combination I could think of and I still have the Amber warning light. MikeL (DSP) sent me a CROM to reset the light but it didn't show up in the menu. That was two days ago. I'll call DSP tomorrow to get a status. Obviously I'd like to get this cleared. Monday the truck goes in for paint (roll pan) and some more clear coat. I'm wanting a wet look. I have a couple pieces from Moe's also due in so all in all it'll be a busy week.
