Thanks Joe. I new about returning the unit back to stock. I started out with a used 3714 I got for 100 bucks and was 3rd owner. It screwed up and Vin locked but SC gave me 150 US towards an upgrade to 3865.

Cank the Sc is good until you want an aggressive cam or have enough mods to warrant a custom tune, then its DSP or Trinity time.

I sent Diablo an email to ask if it (trinity) works with an 03 cause the website lists 05-08 but in the features notes talks 04 not avail, 03 coming soon, etc, so given that I think it maybe OK, and I know Weeds truck is an 04, so waiting out.

Question though guys about e-fan install. I came across a comment that said you don't need to hook-up to the A/C switch to turn on the e-fan when the AC clutch kicks in for reason that the A/C cooling fan has it's own Rad, so what's that about. As i understand it when you hook up that option your efan turns on with that even though you may not have reached your adjusted switch on setting,,,make any sense?

On many vehicles the AC coils are in front of the engine radiator. So it makes sense for the fan to come on anytime the AC is turned on. Our Dodge's AC coil is mounted to the side and has it's own fan. So we don't have to connect the AC fan option.

Thats what I thought (or meant) and was what I had read. Thanks for clarifying.
Will try and the get e-fan installed this weekend but wife is working and left me a honey list and my new planted grass has sunk about a foot along the house (sinkhole) as we had another 2 days storm and quick melt, I'm pissed about that as the dirt I thought was settled after construction last year (unrelated but related). OK the e-fan is priority and good thing I get every Friday off.LOL.

Ok guys Thanks for the response ! I am really thinking hard about getting a cam and gears. I just need to do a bit more research first. I did have to turn my truck back to stock yesterday ( it had to make a trip to the dealer) and I really didn't notice much of a difference... I mean I did but not as much as I thought I would. I will keep the tuner until I need something else but I do think a Cam and such are in my future, however I do have 80k miles on it... Do you guys think I am getting up there a little to high to be messing with cams and that sort ?

80k, you are ready for some mods. I would recommend doing the gears first. They make a big difference in a good way. Easy to figure out, if your tires are 33" tall or taller use a 4:46 gear. If your tires are shorter than 33" use a 4:10 gear. Mine are 30.25" tall and I have a 4:10 gear. I turn 2000 rpm at 65 mph. Then you can see how the truck pulls and you can determine what cam best suits the truck. Mid range or higher rpm cam. Go step by step and don't lose track of what the truck is needed to do for you at the end of the day.

Don't worry bout mileage. I had 215 K (km) or 129 K (miles) when i did my cam. been about a year and no probs. i will upgrade the timing chain next on the next cam goin in and maybe a set of those sharadon valve holder rails.

I also played around with the gears but haven't tried logging it. Not sure if bringing it up high in first gear would speed up a 0-60 time. Maybe worth a try as the 6.1 still got power past 5800.

I should be outside doin the e-fan. Ah love a day off, pizza dough on the go but too early for Beer, well off topic again. 03's are the Best..

Was also looking into the 08 manifold swap. Whats the deal with this ? Is it worth the trouble ? I also got scammed out of the TMR mod. I don't have the the box with the bolt in the middle I only have the 4 plugs on the back firewall

I'm not really in the know with alot of the latest mods. And I'm a bit old school in thinking, so I'm going to stick my neck out and say, probably not. I believe the biggest bang after doing all the basic mods are heads and cam. If you want more, build a stoker motor, again using the ported and polished heads and aftermarket cam. But first have all your mods in order from open filter to headers and gears.
Good luck, with a lot of love these big ole girls will really move.

E-Fan..Installed Today. Took about 4 hours. I removed the bottom half of the shroud below the tabs with my dremel (tabs on shroud that clip into recesses in the rad side tanks bottum of rad). Also trimmed the top part of the shroud around the mounting brakets for e-fan attached to top of rad. IMO with our 03's we need to keep the shroud as both the ww & coolant tanks mount on top. Sure I could have mounted them with brackets but in the end it looks real good. Quickest part of the job was the wiring hook-up. Didn't like the way the sensor inserted into the rad. was careful but took 2 tries as the first push and wiggle ate some of the folded metal. I need to play around with the adjustment. I first set the fan to come on when I warmed her up real good at 200 and set her on. Let it cool down and set it to come on at around 195. But during retune of the SC she would cycle on and off a bit right down to 180 as I was sitting there with the truck off. The switch is set now slightly below the normal mark on the box.

Well long post, so next I did some Data logging (6 runs) to see what she could do, didn't start out to good but in the end, wow, I'm dialed in now. Will go and have a smoke and a beer now then will post the results on Data-logging sticky.
