Stuff to add first
Let me express this first haven't bought my car yet. Let me know what I should add first. and has anyone seen the cold air intake extension from AEM. thanks. Plus has anyone ran in to traction problems in bad weather because I live in Chicago ad I need to know.
You won't lose power with the AEM. I know a few people with the AEM intake on there SRT-4's and they got a nice gain of it. AEM make high quality intakes that they put alot of R&D into, testing pipe size and length. If it caused a power loss AEM wouldn't sell it.

Immediately replace the factory plug wires because they are melting within 5,000 miles. Get the MSD Super Conductor wires. First off, if your getting an '03, get the stage 1 upgrade. Second, get a true cold air induction, one that gets air from outside the engine compartment. Then get a high flow catalytic converter. Check out the sites for more toys for it. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley20.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>37964.1023032407</editDate></edited>

Can anyone explain to me why it's necessary to get a CAI when you have an intercooler? I thought the intercooler cooled the air. I can't imagine it would make that much of a difference to put the filter somewhere outside the engine compartment if that's the case. As long as the whole filter is exposed and getting as much air as possible, I would think the temp of the air wouldn't matter. Maybe I'm way off base here.... if so, you have my permission to call me retarded. </P>

Percieved gain, or actual gain reflected on a dyno? The AEM exposes the filter element the hot air inside the engine bay. Remember, the AEM intake was released very soon after the release of the SRT4, so there probably wasn't THAT much R&D. It seems that it was released more because of the fact that every boy racer honda has a CAI, so it was already popular. Power gains, if any, will be minscule at best. and there are many dyno sheets showing power LOSS with this intake. PVO also did lots of R&D of this motor and its accompaning parts, and so far the stock intake seems to be the best way short of custom making an intake that does not pull air from the engine bay. </P>

If you want true cold air and to maximize your intercoolers charge go here and get the CRYO2:

1st Oil catch can.</P>
2nd Mopar BOV</P>
3rd Mopar 2.5 exhaust or larger( If you can't fart faster than you breath in, your motor is still constipatedin a turbo kind a way)</P>
4th Stage 1 or 2 ( with toys) I'd hold off for Stage 2 IMO. </P>
5th CAI</P>
6th Drag Radials</P>
I would say more, but I'm going to wait for Mopar and the PVO group to come out with more toys for the SRT-4</P>
