i guess you cut about 3/4 of an inch off of the back of the scoop insert for better air flow.
heard it drops temps pretty well. any trouble i should worry about in rain and what not

When it gets really, really hot here (like 364 days out of the year) I just pop the hood and let the manual release hold it in place (nobody can really tell unless they get up close to the car) unless I'm going to be doing freeway driving, in which case the engine stays cool without any additional help.
yes sir it works, I did it myself, my friend has done it also, no rain gets in either. The scoop is a pita to pop out though, I noticed temp drops alot when cruising, or on the freeway, its simple to do and it works, next I will be doing a 180 stat, coolant flush+water wetter and a new rad cap so everything is staying even cooler.
