srt-4 vs camaro Z28
Fair enough, the air sure is good at Sears point, my buddy ran 12 teens here in his El Camino and went up there and ran a 11.72! It was in the summer though.
As for me being a reservist, nice try, I served my 6 years and got out. I was an ECM troop on Wild Weasels at Spangdahlem AFB, GE.
I pcs'd to lovely Las Vegas and now I'm in the desert until my boys graduate and then I think I'll camp out in Australia or the P.I.
P.S. I remember those long shifts, 16-18 hour days getting the birds mission capable that transferred from George and Clark during desert storm, then it was all worth it to see them fully loaded and ready to kick ***. I think I'm a few years older than you so hang in there, If I made it, anybody can.

Sup everyone i got more info for everyone.
It is a 1995 LT1 Camaro Z28 they say they can make it kick sideways at 80 but i looked it over and its all stock. Only thing i had seen was dual exhaust but it could of been factory

Can I just point out that if you aren't sure the exhaust is stock, then you aren't qualified to determine if an LT1 has any work done to it. Honestly if you're not familiar with the car, you wouldn't notice little minor **** that adds a lot of power to those. Sounds like you're a noob to the whole race scene. This dude wouldn't have laid out big money against an SRT-4 with a stock LT1. A stock LS1. Sure...You'll more than likely get killed.
So for your own benefit. I wouldn't race him. Might as well just give him the money and call it a day.

ls1 SS can hit 12's with slicks. mean cars. mean stupid cheap built cars with a bad *** engine i should say.

i dont know about all of that...unless youre at a very fast track, or it was one of the Earnhart or Henry Edition 425hp cars.....a WS6 or SS off the showroom floor stock, with a manual and a good driver should run what? 13.40s and a new GTO (05) runs about the same with a manual, as rated by C&D...i havent seen a Manual GTO at the track...but ive seen an auto, and it ran high 13s/low 14s... and ive seen plenty of WS6s and SS's run mid to high 13s depending on the driver....and while ive seen PLENTY of them scream into the low 12s/high 11s...that seems a bit fast...and 12.52@ 110? i run 12.60s @ 106 max...with good traction...is he/she still having traction issues?
I don't think there were any traction issues to speak of. After he ran it, we were all astonished. Doesn't make sense. But it was backed up with 3 more similar runs. So it wasn't just a freak accident. The car will be hitting the dyno in the next couple of weeks to see what kind of power it's putting down. I will say that it is an 01. And in 01, the f-bodies got the LS6 intake, which would only make sense to see a gain of about 20-25 hp. Yet they still rated the HP the same from the factory. Some of the other f-body guys that were there thought it was crazy too. In fact 2 of them still claim that he was spraying. I know for a fact that he wasn't. He's a good friend of mine, and I've worked on the car. In fact, the nitrous kit didn't go on until tuesday afternoon.
My point was, don't under estimate LS1's. Some of them are just freaking monsters.

well james you dont seem to be to bad of a guy i might even like you if i meet you. yea long *** hours here. i work in the port so i load the planes and set up the cargo and what not. i havent been to germany but i plan on going ethier there or japan next base. im trying to avoid the korea 1 year tour. thats good you whernt a worthless reservist i cant stand reservist having to retrain them every time. you said you run your times with a 1.5 60 foot? thats some super tourqe you got there. big *** slicks probly too? i havent decided on the size of the slicks im going to run. i dont really want to tub it and have to cut the rear end down too much. but i would like to run a set up simular to the VW bug guys. we tested my current set up in a 240sx to run it on a dyno then transfered it to the 1200. what ring gear are you running? i run 4.38's i would assume your using at least a 4.11 or better. im debating running a 4.11 because of the turbo and the tranny i have to use.. the 4.38 was ok for the n/a motor but 4.38 i think wont give me enough time in the power band. the air is prety good at sear becaus eof the bay right next to it. getts all the dense air but mid day it get pretty hot. its way better than Sac raceway but the techs at sears are ****. you have to run mufflers and all that garbage. well im going on about cars so ill be going.
Thanks Orochi, with DOT rated 29x12.5 Mickey Thompson sportsman pro's I run 1.68 60' times, with Hoosier 28x10's I ran a 1.59 but both had some tire spin, I have to do some suspension work like Competition engineering bars or Cal tracs to get it to hook better, but I'm ok for now since I don't have a cage and I like my windows to stay put since twisting the body coud lead to an expensive rear window replacement.
I run 4.30 gears now, last year I ran 3.23's and had a best time of 12.45 @ 109 so it's making some torque.
I run full exhaust and the car is registered since I usually run it in street bracket.
Don't shy away from Korea, it's one hell of a party, I haven't been there but I heard about alot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get out of that **** hole and see the world, Asian women, Koreans, Thais, Phillipinas, Chinese, Japanese, hell all of them are great. But then I love all makes of women!!!

yup i want to go to japan but once to go to travis you dont get out. its like a void. im trying tho. korea is ok from what i hear but to many exercises(mop 4) all the time. plus i hate squardon pt but whatever. i agree with you on the women tho. i was thinking of running 26x10 on the 1200 that way i can do a mini tub nothing drasic. i can fab some aluminum for it. im going to build my roll cage for the car also.. well see all it takes is time. and im pouring too much money into the srt-4 already. im planing on fabing a roll cage for the srt-4 cuz from what i see no one has one yet. my plan was to run the rotory guys in the 1200 with a nissan motor and basicly building this car cuz my buddy has a bridgeport 71 R100 that he building. the ricans bucthered all the datsuns with rotorys and thats all i see in the datsuns nowadays. there a few guys with chevy motors in them but there all the Z cars. well ill get back to my srt now cuz this isnt a nissan forum i just like talking about cars i guess.

Back to the original topic, 2005 Srt-4, you never know what the other guy has when you race.
He might be close to stock, or he might have a stroked 454 smallblock that he has made to look and sound stockish, plus if he runs nitrous, that could be ugly for you real quick.
I've lined up against guys that I was sure would kill me and I came out on top, but by the same token, I've been beat by a raggedy Firebird that sounded like a tractor and it ended up running low 11's.
My advice is to wait and see how he does against similar competition, watch out if he barely wins or loses, he could be baiting for more money. Just some advice from an old racer thats been around the block.

the guy that crushed me at PRP in the SRT4, who ran a 12.20 at 120 something....didnt even have the SRT4 body...it was an RT body cut to allow room for the intercooler...i expected to roll him as soon as i launched...and i did, until 1000ft.
