1993 Dodge Dakota LE, 5.2L Magnum, Auto Trans A518, RWD
I'm repainting most of the left side center of my truck. 90% of the scratches, dings, and chips are relegated to this area so I'll be happy to just refinish this and forget the rest. I have the two tone paint job and I'm talking about the tan-ish center on the left side from the door to the back.
My hood sticker says that is paint code QV4. When I check with these touch up paint joints they don't list that color. But they do list PV4, KV4, V4, DT2675, AY96KV4 that I believe are the same as my QV4. Why they have so many numbers for the same color is beyond me. Probably has something to do with proprietary rights or sumpin'. I tried calling Dodge and they have no clue. Besides the color name and online chips suggesting QV4 = PV4... I found a chart online https://www.yoyopart.com/oem/5784488...ml#interchange that suggests these are the same colors.
Anyhow, if anyone knows anything about paint and/or paint codes I would appreciate your insight.
Check out the local body shops, find one that has the cool gun that they shoot at your truck, and it tells them the exact paint color. They may even help you get the paint.

I found exact matches in rattle cans at the auto stores. If you go that route don't use their clear coat it isn't long lasting. A local auto paint supplier showed me a rattle can with an attachment for regular clear coat, after I had already done my hood. Anyway if nothing else I am sure you know you can go ask a body shop or the local body shop paint supplier to look that up for you.
