Picked up my tires today. Now I need to decide how to clearance them for up-flex...

I'm thinking either bump stops to limit up-flex, or reshape the wheel wells!!

Oh yeah, teardown has started. Ready to start cutting tomorrow! That is going to be the most nerve-racking part of the whole project!

Also, I was curious where the truck would sit, so I put a tire under the front wheel well. I also grabbed my coil springs for a reference. The coil springs I have have a 300 pound per inch rate, and I estimate there is 1200 pounds on each front spring, so they will sit down about 4 inches with weight on them. The springs reached down to the tire bead when I held them in their approximate place, minus 4 inches they'll sit down, leaves another 4.5 inches to put the springs on the axle's centerline, but the coil buckets are above the axle's centerline So.... that all means the truck is going to sit about 5-6 inches higher than it sits in this picture...

Thats right!! There is no welding those mounts back on now. Next time that truck sees the road will have to be with a solid axle under it!
