With all of the fab work and welding on the back half of the chassis coming up quick, I want to set the bed on the chassis and get the mounts figured out. That way all the welding gets done so it will be ready for paint. I also want to take a boat load of measurements to see if the width of the Ford rear end will work and what width rear tires I can get away with. I am crossing my fingers that the axle tubes and axles don't need to be shortened. Back spacing and offset are my ace in the hole, while trying to use the rear end "as is".
This afternoon my wife found a box on our front porch, too heavy to carry. Low and behold, it was the first piece of swag from Stacey David's Gearz show - the Woodward Fab Super Bead roller. I have not received any communication/status/tracking on any of the prizes from the show. This will come in super handy in building a new trans tunnel, and repairing the bad floor sections on the Stude's floor. To be quite honest, I had pretty much forgotten about the swag showing up sooner or later.
It was an epic week. My round trip mileage logged 2,735 miles. $667 US in diesel fuel. We visited Banff National Park, rode the gondola to the top, and hiked the Bow River. Ended the week with a poker tournament. 9 players, I finished a solid mediocre with a 5th place. Payouts only to 3rd place, but it was a really good time! The Canadian Rockies are mind blowing.
Yes. I used a primer/sealer on the inside last time, and this one will get the same. I need to make some progress on my personal property inventory claim, and then the front suspension will get tidied up (torque, cotter pins, calipers, etc. Then the chassis will be a roller again.
