Premium sound speaker size?
Yeah i'm young and dumb and hopefully wont make this mistake again. But the speakers on my 2002 slt+ durango are indeed blown. All for mid bass's or whatever they are. Maybe just regular speakers. The four tweetrs are fine just the bigger speakers. Yup it is the inifinty package. Any idea how many watts they were rms? also maybe a cheap replacement that will give me the same quality of sound as they did or maybe even better?
Maybe
Alpines
kenwoods
Pioneers
Inifinty
etc?
So all i really need to know if the Size of the speakers, the rms/wattage and a good cheap replacement. And if anyone knows of a place that'll install for cheap that would be great! i dont feel like having to take the door panels off myself and do all that work.
In need of help guys and I promise i wont act dumb with friends and crank the bass and volume up so high any more. Or atleast not at the same time!
Thanks in advance.

this is actually a pretty common problem, you might be able to fix the speakers that are in there now, or you could buy a new set from infinity which would swap right in ($100 a pair)
Well my friend said since the car is older the speakers might have just gone bad and thats why they blew, but they work fine when the bass is turned down to -8. How would it be possible to fix the speakers in there? Also if i spend 100 bucks a pair i might as well get some higher rated ones from like best buy right? Are the stock speakers 2 way or 3 way?
$100 bucks a pair will get you the Infinity referene 60xx's. 6.5 inch speakers 2 way. 2 ohm load. They are great speakers and the tweeter is adjustable in terms of direction.
Just make sure they include the adaptor that will work with the OEM speaker spacers.

so its a 6.5 inch round speaker and its 2 way? good to know well i dont know if i'll spend 100 bucks on stock replacement? i assume thats what you guys are talking about? maybe i stop by best buy and see what they have there. since i do need 4 of them
No, I am referring to aftermarket. Current reference series is 6032's. check it out.

google these speakers online to get the lowest price. you can problaby find discontinued 6022's for cheap and they are just as good as the 6032's.
If you want Infinity 3 ways, you will have to go Kappa series which is Infinity's higher end speakers.

So final note here, both front and back speaker sizes are 6.5 inch round speakers? they are 2 way and 60 watt rms? \
Thanks a lot guys! that really helps clear things up! Once i get them fixed i'll get back to you guys!

Don't buy the Infinity 6032si. They are shallow mount and sound like crap.

Well MongoDV8 i read on the link you posted that shrpshtr325 and others use liquid electrical tape and rubber cement? how does that work? do i just open up the panel and apply the rubber cement wear its torn then let it dry? does that hold well? and will it take away that rattling sound? You know when they are blown and when they vibrate/shake you can hear them rattling alot!
