Oh, thanks for letting me know..I thought it was just the Voyager phones that were not working and not all new generationLG phones. I know there are also problemswith some Motorola phones.

I think im going to have to write Harman Becker again as I haven't heard anything about the software update or my replacement radio.. I'll ask how everything is going with the cell phone compatibility issues with the latest patch.

 

im guessing this update will work fine on the UK spec car?

 

What I wish I could see in an update is the functionality of adding mp3/wma support (to play) for external harddrives that are plugged in to the usb. That way I can have a larger external that I can update faster and put more on.

 

I was just informed by Harman Becker that the REN software update

1) is not coming until June, and

2) will not have the fix to allow sorting by track# that the RER update will have.

??? Am I stuck without a way to sort albums by track#?

This sucks.

Also, i didn't see any way to sort by artist and then by album? for example, i could press the 'artist' button, but selecting an artist lists all of the artist's songs from all their albums. pressing the 'album' button brings up all albums from every artist. there's an easy way to simply view albums for a specific artist that i'm just missing, right???

 

Another email from Harman Becker: you can use and Artist->Album forlder structure when reading a DVD, but the structure is erased when copying to the HDD.

Which means MyGig lacks the basic functionalty to view Artists and then view that Artist's Albums. Even a $20 USB mp3 player will let you keep your folder structure.

This is the absolute worst mp3 interface I have used in 10 years. Total garbage.

 

Received a new MyGig from Harman Becker and installed it myself. I am hoping my problems are gone. Running version 9.665. The update they sent me did not take care of the issues.

Have to say excellent customer servivce from these people.

The MyGig is an excellent unit to have in myvehicle.

I'm having problems with an HTC-Mogul (Sprint). Kills sound and locks up phone when paired. Sprint says it is a known issue with the MyGiG and to not pair the phone. They suggest, as does Chrysler tech support, that it is a MyGiG issue with a fix is to be available within the next 30-60 days.

Is this issue on the fix list for the update being discussed in this forum?

Odd, my Sprint branded Mogul pairs and works perfectly with MyGig in my Avenger.

Indeed strange. Is your MyGiG a Nav unit? If so, could you post the software level it has?
