Still... 18 I think I should be able to get, shooting for 20 of course. It is a challenge now for me to get there, I love challenges and having gone thru what I did with the ram, this will be a fun one to tackle.

Build up the torque under 2k rpms, then leverage it as much as possible. thats the plan. Once that is done, then will work on the aero stuff.

I do think 18 is fairly possible, 20 should be doable, but will cost a lot in parts and modifications i think.

I would think tuning will give the most reduction like the SCI tune or HP tuners, because you get a big decrease better mpg right away and gain some torque and hp's.
In my case it's all very expensive to get the parts, and i will gain some mpg, but i think it will cost me a lot and i am not sure if i can get it back.
If i go the HP Tuners way, it will cost me $ 1.016,= just to get it here, same on the sensors, if i buy the oem ones at the Jeep dealer over here it will cost me another $ 1.000,= or more for all sensors.
Looked for prices on a map sensor, $ 120,= for no name brands ( China i guess ).

Think the airbox modifications could help, specially during winter, the same if you look at old European cars, they all had a valve on the air filter housing to reroute the intake air for winter time.

The aluminium driveshaft is a good way to go......but nowhere to be found in my case, think less mass is always a direct winner.
Like the wheels you've changed in other posts, weight reduction always pays off.

I'm also not sure if you gain a lot with the Jeep TCM replacement, you are all ready low on rpm's, and it will affect the torque curve when you're running in a gear ratio the engine isn't comfortable in.
In my case it worked pretty good, but others don't liked it at all and got rid of it very soon, it all depends on axle gear ratio, tire sizes, vehicle weight and terrain conditions ( hills or flat roads).
I've lost some power when accelerate from 30 to 60 mph because of the gear ratio if you wan't to stay in 3th gear, but is does a good job, when needed i'll give it full throttle it will shift down to 2nd and off you go.
The biggest advantage is the cruising speed rpm's wich in my case brought me a big decrease in mpg.

The PO hasn't only lowered the front, but also the back, because i have to tow occasionally, i've mounted an European tow hitch, just couldn't use it because my tires would rub all the time, so i made an air spring from a 18 wheeler on the back axle to raise it up and clear the tires.
I didn't like the looks this way so i've changed tire size from 255/55R16 to 265/70R16 to get a full wheel well ( looks ) and to gain some ride height as well, i'm not sure yet if i will stay at this tire size, i think i'm changing the next ones to 255/65R16 and lower the air spring ( lower psi's ) a bit.
When going back to 255 and lower the air spring might keep my tyres from rubbing, and when needed i can push it right back up with the air spring.

Aerodynamics will get good results i believe, both our trucks must be usable as intended as well, but i think closing gapes, bed rubbers, belly pan ( full or parts ), the front and/or middle airdam will get us some improvements.

Either way i will closely follow the changes/improvements you make, and see if i can follow....., 1st thing i'm going to change is the CAI and make a winter set up for the air intake.
Right now i'm going to check if the 03 Durango has a aluminium driveshaft wich will fit mine, but think 99% it will not fit.....

i am on the micro tablet and will get back to this when back at the laptop so bear with me...

tuner comment, i think you meant increase in mpgs right? the canned tunes sold are there to get the most hp & tq to fit a general window. doing the self tuning i can taylor the tune to match my setup and fuel requirement. which is going to be the lowest octane fuel from my preferred station. on the ram, more attention has been spent on the 800-2500 range in the cruise zone then anywhere else. i expect the same when i get to the tuning for the dak. there is only one timing table in the tune i looked at so it should be pretty quick. the ram has 5 for timing, rail pressure, and one for injection duration. then all if the compensation tables and switches. it took a long time to gain a handle on it and i only understand about 2/3 of the stuff that is in there.

gotta stop here the pain of the micro tablet replies sucks

Map sensor thread... https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...er-solved.html

Not sure if I posted this, took a quick look and did not see it. Couple of guys in there have the 4.7 & also reported improved throttle response and some better mpg numbers.

Delphi MAP sensor on Amazon for $23.13. I don't believe mine has ever been changed. I might have to try this.

I'm currently looking to find the MAP sensor, but i'm over in Europe, there are a few changes in years, so be careful to get the right one.

I have a 2000 so i need to look for the JTEC MAP Sensor # 56041018

So now it's getting even harder to get OEM, have to look but think there's only 1 original Dodge and 1 original Jeep dealership left....

That's just crazy man. You must really love your truck versus driving something with locally available parts.
