I've been known to visit there from time to time but haven't posted anything in years. The only thing about the Ford fans is they aren't like others, you need a controller that can switch between low and high speed correctly. Do it wrong and it burns up. Those fans have a tap in the middle of the motor windings for low speed and a tap at the other end for high speed, and if both taps are energized at the same time, FOOSH. The correct controller will ground either the middle tap or the far tap, not both at the same time.

1st full tank with tires installed, 1" taller, 1.033% correction based on gps speed delta = 15.9 mpg. (15.4 mpg uncompensated) all vacuum lines appear to be fixed, need to verify still with smoke test... weather sucked, wind & rain, cool temps, a good amount of hiway driving while working on the internal cleaning. no eco driving. will start eco driving moving forward in the dak. still not ready for prime time so will continue to have limited duty.

On the Dakota there is a rubber strip on the bottom front side of the bed, between the cab and bed.
At the Ford Rangers there are 2 on the side between cab and bed.

I've read about you're other post and i knew there was a engine cover missing under the radiator/engine.
So i've been changing my oil and made myself a new cover under there.
I've seen you made an airdefector under the Ram, but because of the bad weather, rains all day around here, i'm looking into that and make one later on.

What happened with this, any mpg change detected?

My Dak is starting regular use today and will be commuting in it moving forward while the Ram is down. I have a fresh set of NGK plugs to toss in there and still have the evap leak code. But, drives good and should be good to go while I work on the leak. Last tank was a corrected 15.9 mpg. (taller tires).

Fuel rail wrap will be coming soon...

I just can't say for sure....i believe if it is it is very minor.

I did a oilchange and trans with filters, new sparks plugs during holiday, made the cab/bed rubbers and made an lower engine cover plate, from frontbumper to steering house, my original cover was removed by PO.

It's hard to test for drag, we've got no hills to coast down, all flat here in the Netherlands.
I don't have the overhead/ceiling display either, but i bought a OBD II adapter en Torque pro.
When i'm monitoring this is believe i gained a little, but can't tell for sure or how much, best guess will be 0.1-0.2 MPG....

Did you do the full height of the bed or just down to the body line? It may be that there are no gains to be had on this truck from that area. The ram does not have the fender flares and those will cause turbulence. There is no clean exit of air off the back sides of this truck so it may be difficult in that area.

Can you post pics of your under tray? Mine does not have one, not sure my 2000 QC truck had one either... both are 4wd.

I made them about 10 inches long from top to bottom so they end at the line from the rear wheel wells forward, i do have fender flares.
I'll make some pictures Tomorow, it's all ready dark overhere

also, have you tried going back to the stock airbox? and a warmer air intake? (towing with warmer air might be an issue)

I can tell you the CAI will flatten the bottom end torque, on the diesel, the flow thru the air box matters for bottom end torque. I suspect the gas is going to have the same effect. Been looking into intake manifold runner length and came across some interesting info relating to torque and airflow velocity. still need to digest it more though.

Don't know exactly what this means, but think you meant a full cover plate under the engine ?

I just made a rectangular flat plastic plate under there, going upwards on the sides is a bit more difficult, and i can't get my oil filter out that way, think this is the main reason people would take the original ones off.

I only have my CAI, was on there when i bought the car, cleaned and oiled it with last oil change, problem is i don't have the original airbox.
I could possibly buy one from a wrecking yard, but they will be expensive over here.
So because i am not sure how much it will gain me i think i will leave it like this, i'm happy with my engine torque and hp output, but like you i rather have an increase in torque than horsepower.

I'm looking if i could find a +08 air intake manifold, but so far there ain't any around here, searching all over Europe, but they can't be find yet.
I've read there will be a increase on hp's in the top end, but don't know about torque or milage.
