I thought I was going insane for a minute there, thanks for reassuring me.

As far as re-building, I could just buy a Holly re-built TQ for $200.
And it's professionally re-built and has the base settings done by a major manufacturer.
Not a problem there guy gotta keep the info right Do you have a vac gauge? it's one way to adjust a carb right. If you need any help just ask.

A rebuild kit should be around $40 and it a good learning exp to rebuild a 4bbl carb. As for a Holley carb there are better carbs out there on the market that I would look at first.

I do not have a vacuum gauge, but I'll get one eventually. I was attempting to do it by ear, and honestly, I don't think I did too bad. I must definitely have my Great-Grandpa's grease-monkey blood in me.
I basically richened it up until it quit bogging quite as bad because when I leaned it out, it backfired through the carb.

And the carb is a Carter TQ, but it's rebuilt by Holley. The current carb IS leaking, I just want to get some other stuff on the truck fixed before I dive into the carb rebuild.

^^^ Good luck at your alinment appt. That has always felt similar to a doctors appt. to me. Schedule a time, show up and wait, then wait anxiously for them to come tell you what's wrong and what it will take to fix. Then stick you with a larger bill than you expected.

So far this shop has been good to me.

I fully expect there to be something that needs replacing before it can be aligned.

We'll see what happens. Oh, getting a tire rotation too.

One of the perks of my job is that I get to use our new digital alignment rack.
