Thanks for the info, I have done three oil changes now, just coming to a year using it. From day one I could tell something was different, and I am not one for thinking a oil can make that kinda change to a motor but this one did/does, it just runs so smooth, it holds psi like no other oil I have seen, the inside of the motor is spotless clean, never have any lifter tick at startup (M1 oil was bad for that I found).

Drove it to pick up the tcase clocking ring, going to try and install it over the weekend. I will post pix and a small write up after it's done.

Havent been on the site for a few months, so busy with work, but after reading so much about them, finally got some HS 1.7 RR's installed today. I also have a modified manifold and throttle body that I'll be installing in the next month or so, whenever I get around to ordering a double roller timing chain. Would like to get that done, while I have it all tore down. The roller rockers really were one of the simplest upgrades available. Hardest part was getting all the crap outta the way to access the valve cover bolts/ studs.



Also got some valve covers from the junkyard, cleaned em up and painted red. The manifold I modified is painted black with red fuel rails and tstat housing. Should look pretty good once it's all done. Can see the red valve cover in this pic once the RR's were swapped out.

Unfortunately my motor is disgusting (as u can see in the pic), covered with dust/ dirt, being that I drive for a concrete company and our parking lot is next to the sand/ rock piles. Even with the windows up all the time, my dash is constantly covered in dust. I can only imagine how hard my K&N filter is working to keep all that crap outta the motor.

I started Friday mid morning to swap the M1 back on. It's been awhile, but I got the time. Everything went well until the very end with soft goods stuff. All resolved though. I really dislike the water pump bypass hose. This happened before in trying to reuse the one with stock keg. Nope. I've ended up having to trim about 1/4" off. I also didn't have the clamp square seated on the intake side due to haste. You never know you have a leak until you've got it all buttoned up and start it up....

So fixed that, which means pulling ACC bracket off. Fixed it, back together. Then lower rad hose at water pump wants to leak. All kinds of adjusting just wouldn't get it to seal. So replaced that. Had to cut off the clamp at the radiator side due to access.

All good...until the heater bypass inlet oring raises it's hand.



One are farthest left is the oring for the inlet. I tried all the sizes in my kit...no way. Went to Oreillys and bought the inlet tube that comes with the oring. Even checked the assortment sizes....no dice.

Installed with high temp rtv and done



Started and ran...no more coolant mess. whew

Reinstalled the Superchips for tire size and performance setting. Oil/filter change.

Found a radio antennae replacement, installed, and will see how it does. It's gotten good reviews so far...

Nicely done sir. That bypass hose is such a pita isn't it? A ways back I replaced the one on my 02 Dakota 5.9 and didn't get the clamp quite square either, had to take it back a part the next day. Lessons learned I guess.

Oh, and to stay on topic. Replaced the passenger side inner tie rod and steering damper, then took it for alignment yesterday.

 

Today I was helping a couple move and used my Ram to haul this 72' beast home. Only needs a new bulb. Movie night anyone? haha

Did in fact give the truck a bath. Also evicted (forcefully) spiders that decided to make a home behind my mirrors....

 

Replaced my pitman arm and idler arm. What a pain in the butt. Also painted the upper bumper trim cap and rear bumper step pads black with Krylon fusion. Looks good
