Cleaned out the Ram today.

Edit:

Did in fact give the truck a bath. Also evicted (forcefully) spiders that decided to make a home behind my mirrors....
Good for you and yuck on the spiders.

On that run I actually didn't go down that far, 18f/15r. Sometimes i'll go to 12/10. Just depends on the trail and on occasion what I'm going for.

Thanks. Talk about so much effort involved for such a small soft good.

Well, got a cel... checked codes, random misfire, and misfire on number six. Six had good spark, so, stuck a compression gauge in there. Zero..... 2 and 4 are at 60. I stopped testing at that point. New motor time. Not that I can afford it..... explains where my oil has been going too.

took on a big job finally because the weather has been cooperating, but now I'm at a stand still because I broke an A/C line trying to short cut, so now I'm doing it the right way and am glad I'm doing it the right way.

Replacing the heater core in my truck, and now the evaporator core as well.

so the broken AC line is ordered as well as a new HVAC box drain seal as the old one is shot.

pulled the hvac box apart and found a nasty rats nest...explains the musty smell from the vents, as well as why my vents never really blew very hard...

I'll let the pics tell the story...

look at that! 13 year old original dash...flawless! not even trying to crack or showing any signs of even thinking about cracking!

In case you're wondering about the little white square on the dash, that is where my in-dash GPS navigation antenna mounts.

trying to figure out how to sneak the new heater core in there without breaking it.

ac line broke so I disconnected the lines and yanked the whole damn box out.

no hvac box on the firewall

Since I have to wait several days for a new A/C line, and since I have the thing out...figured I might as well take a look at the evap cores condition while I had this thing out...glad I did..

This explains the musty smell...

And explains the low air volume through the vents while the blower sounds like its working its *** off..

13+ years of dirt, gunk, pine needles, and one of the many mouse nests I've cleared out of the damn hvac box.

This heater/AC is gonna work real good after I'm through with it So glad I have a backup vehicle to fetch parts with and allow me to take my time with the Ram.
