Thanks for reminding me, I'll need to change the HVAC filters in my Mazda soon. It's great how they catch all kinds of crap and prevent it from getting into the heater core and evaporator.
All I have left to do on the block is remove all the freeze plugs, camshaft and bearings, clean up the block, get measurements, and ship it off to the machine shop...so far everything is looking good! bearings aren't wore very much and my crankshaft won't have to be machined or anything, it looks good with specs.

@jigabop -- Holy bahjeebus man! That is alot of crud up in there. You're making me cringe. I don't have any musty smell though.....so. Good job on the dash!

think the smell was from the mouse nests... lil f'er left more than one in that HVAC box... I cleared out the other two when he destroyed the first two blower motors with his nest. The other one was on the intake side of that evaporator core. So that was the smell, but that wasn't the main cause of the blower motor laboring...all that other gunk and crap in that evaporator core was the cause of that...I washed it and scrubbed it up, but still can't get the stuff that is deep in the fins of the core clean, so I just bought a new one...at $65 out the door, it's not worth my time f'in with the old one trying to clean the rest of the garbage out of it... quicker and easier just to replace it all together so the system is back to 100%
This weekend I'll try and get it all put back together assuming my parts arrive in time. They are supposed to ship out today, but I have no idea where they are shipping from, so it might take more than a week to get the parts? we'll see...
