Ford belonged to the semi owner even LOL

So the ford didn't originally pull because it was at dudes house and dude was stuck in the middle of the road in his tractor. So dodge to the rescue lol. Dunno why they didn't pull it with the ford on day 2, but my guess is they saw how easy it was for my truck to get that thing moving and was probably afraid to break the ford haha.

ford was a 7.3L powerjoke even!

The Ford next to the Semi couldn't do it?

Then the next day when the picture was taken, we hooked it back up, and I pulled him the rest of the way home.

A Toyota pickup pulled up next to us when we were hookin it up and airing up the tanks saying there's no way that truck can pull that up this hill..

he was surprised as hell when he saw that semi start moving

I drive a 6.7L PowerStroke everyday, and while I've never driven a 7.3L I can assure you that truck could have pulled his tractor, why he choose not to use it is anyone's guess.

But I'd put a stock 7.3L up against your motor in stock configuration anyday Provided his 7.3L is stock too....

But today I put new Bosch Wipers on the truck, $17 each but I'm tired of spending $5 each and having to replace them after 2 rains.....

It would have been pretty hard on that automatic though lol. (7.3L has an auto trans, is lifted with 37" tires, etc.)

that semi tractor weighs ~24,000lbs by itself.

where as mine is obviously far from stock (moderately modified) and has a double disc clutch with a HD xfer case, HD rear axle, and HD 6-spd manual trans.

pulling that load is nothing for my motor

though I actually for the first time saw about 18-20psi of boost in first gear! (granny low gear) normally even second gear doesn't show boost because it's not enough engine load to get boost.

put simply: my truck being modified the way it is, is more suited to handle a heavy load as my clutch will NOT give one inch and will not get any form of excess wear pulling a heavy load, where that auto trans in the ford is going to be pushed hard and could possibly greatly reduce the life of the clutches in that slushbox if it doesn't break something from moments when the chain jerks the truck.

Having a manual in the Ford would definitely be better.

I can't speak for the possibility of just 1 pulling it since it happened long ago but down in Va Beach the SSP's there had a fully loaded tractor trailer break down, they have the same 6.7L Fords we have (6spd Auto), it took 2 to pull the tractor trailer but they got it moved.

I've owned both a stock 7.3 (Super duty, better than the one yall are discussing even) and a stock 2001 cummins 24 valve. Both were 1 ton cab & chassis dually 4x4 6sp manual transmission trucks.

Let me tell you, the Dodge would pull circles around the Ford. Unloaded race, my money's on the Super Doushy. Pulling heavy? Inline 6 torque is unbeatable.

Did the weekly tank fill... noted about a 1mpg improvement over the past month or so's numbers (which had worsened by about that much).
The only change has been a failing A/C compressor, that was swapped out last week... I guess the A/C was dragging it down.

After a long and hard decision, I decided I will be keeping this truck for quite some time, rather than making payments on a brand new truck or inheriting someone else's negligence on a used truck. So, I made a small list of what I plan on doing this yearish.

Regear to 4.10's and get a locker for the rear(front axle may or may not get one too)
Replace CAD with an electric actuator
Replace front axle seals, ball-joints, u-joints etc.
New rims and tires
Small lift (Big maybe)
Add some subs to the box that came with the truck(dual 12" sub-box behind the seat)
Add electric windows
Intake plenum should be closer to the top of the list, oh well lol
Headers and dual exhaust

After I do this, I should be quite satisfied with the Single Cab
