What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
My thermostat froze in the open position so I thought I'd tackle that this morning. Had all my ducks in a row, new stant 180 thermostat, felpro gasket, and all the tools layed out. Everything went fine till the first housing bolt. Yep, snapped right off. Put it all back together and filled it with coolant. I'll deal with this when the weather cools down. Lucky me.

Today I did a bit towards redoing the lid on the center console.
I cut and shaped the foam to fit the backing/frame.
I used CosPlay foam (EVA foam)... it’s dense with a little give... supposed to hold up to 200F conditions.
It cuts easy enough with an Exacto knife, and is supposed to be sandable.
I used a black contact adhesive to layer up the edges... overall it’s about 1/4” thicker than the original.
Next I need to round the corners and top edge... I guess we’ll see how sandable it is.

Since I’ve been off here for a bit I’ll also mention I also paid to have my transfer case resealed, in an effort to stop leaving puddles, and I also had my long ago failed LSD replaced with a Detroit Trutrac. I pulled a bunch of metal pieces from the rear diff 6 or 7 years back but it drove fine so I left it. Fully open it’s a bit sporty to try and pull into traffic in the rain so I finally bit the bullet while it was in there for the transfer case.
I knew that transfer case was a leaky mess but also know I’ve got multiple sources and types of minor of leaks. Next up is replacing the valve cover gaskets and I’ll work on cleaning things up from top to bottom but I’m not making the mess I was so it’s not much of a priority.
