Had a similar issue, turned out to be the speed sensor on the tranny.

IN OTHER NEWS...

Train horn got mounted under bed where the spare would normally sit. Air tank got bolted into the bed. Cutout got welded and wired in behind the cat (not where I wanted, but works well all the same and looks like it belongs)

Looks good. Pics and vids coming to a dodge forum near you!

thanks for the input, ill look further into that. ive also found that it could be a loose connection at the CCD under the dash by the parking brake. im leaning towards that because it was fine until i installed my system, and i ran my power wire right near there. unfortunately i cant do to much to the truck until next week since im out of town on vacation.

Mine wans't as extreme, but I knew it had to be that, because my speedo would jump from 30 to 55 and I could feel the TC lock up, and sometimes it would shift gears.

What's really bizarre is.... I CAN'T FIND the wiring diagram that covers the speedo...... It isn't in the IC section, nor does it appear to be in the CTM section. WTF??

ive looked on all data and found nothing but managed to do the cluster diagnostic self test, and got the 900, 920, 940, and 999 codes.

also when the speedo drops out like that the odo reads "no bus"

nothing changes in how the truck runs at all.

like i said i read somewhere that it could be a loose or pinched wire at the junction block under the dash by the parking brake, which it could be since there hasnt been any problems with the truck until last week. and i had just installed my system in the truck a few days before that.

You must have loosened some wires from the CTM to the cluster. The "no bus" is a sure indicator of that..... CTM provides input for almost everything on the cluster..... is it only the speedo that drops out? Or do the other gauges freak as well? It doesn't appear that way from the video..... That's just bizarre......

I have no clue where that would be found. I have searched the FSM, and the search completely skips the wiring diagram section.... I don't get it.
