My bet is that it was full. After all, the only time you need to drop your tank is right after you fill it, right?

^^^ Seems that way doesn't it?

I had an offer to trade 2K and a very nice late '70s t-bird with a 460. Said no thanks.

Experienced extreme death wobble for the first time. I imagine that the newly installed 2" spacers aggravated the front end. It never ends....

No I haven't. However with the design of that suspension I don't see how the lift would affect anything other than the steering wheel being slightly off center, and the non-adjustable track-bar. I will have Discount tire take a look at it tomorrow when they put on my new tires.

Lifting the truck also rolls the front axle slightly, throwing caster off. Axle also moves toward the drivers side of the truck.

Yea but those aren't things I can change with an alignment anyway. Are the upper/lower control arms different lengths?

The axle movement to the side was the first thing I looked for when I got it done, and I honestly can't see any change. 2" really isn't a big deal to this design I don't think.

Another thought: I'm considering putting on a set of 1500 control arms to compensate for the axle being pulled back with the lift. Anyone see any reason why this isn't a good idea?

If you don't know, the 1500 arms are slightly longer than 2500/3500's because the Dana 44 housing is skinnier.

Caster is adjustable with the cam bolts on the axle end of the lower control arms. You would need an adjustable track bar to re-center the axle.....

If the 2500 arms are meaner.... (heavier duty) may not be a good idea. There are adjustables out there in the world though.

I take it back! You are right about the caster. If they won't align it with the tire installation tomorrow I will (of course) try to figure out how to do it myself.

I know my arms are made of thin stamped steel. I think I might try this as well. If I do I will let everyone know how it affects things.
