my "new" one is a T61. Oh so much faster..
It's still an older machine, but it is plenty fast enough for what I use it for which is basically this, and messin around all day on lol. I do use it for work related tasks like trips to the data center, or for weekend or away from home support though. It is domain joined, has VPN client, vmware client, RDCmanager, webex, and various other tools we use for support.
has a core 2 duo dual core proc and 4GB ram
plenty fast enough for win 7 and the basic tools I use.

well to be quite honest, my pentium 3 with MMX can outdo a brand new AMD Athlon 4 core processor when it comes to multimedia, running the same OS, the t23 had a slower HD and less RAM, but the t23 had 64bit EIDE mode as well...
