We let alot of off topic NON-Ram related stuff slide. Politics are too hot of a topic and can lead to pages and pages of arguments. Not here.

I agree that aftermarket modifications and repairs do little if anything to add value to a 16 year old pickup. That's why I'm replacing heads instead of buying the Performance Injection Equipment crate engine that Merc linked to at one point. I would LOVE to have 400+ hp and 400+ tq, but I'd be putting $7k in engine work into a $4k truck, and end up with a $4k truck.
I don't see a problem in investing In something you really want. It's not like you are puttin money into te motor for the sole purpose of increasing its resale value, of course that wouldn't make sense. Your building it into something you want. Just think, in order to buy a truck with that much power, your going to spend a lot more than that. I would love to build up my 5.2 a little bit, because I would like to keep it, an it does what I need from it.

I don't see a problem with investing in something you really want either, I'm just in a position with my truck that spending that much on a motor doesn't make good financial sense. I bought it with 115k miles on it, and I'm not sure it will go another 115k without replacing, well, everything. In my particular situation, I think putting money back for a big down payment on a newer truck in a couple years is a much smarter plan. If I had owned the truck for the majority of it's life or knew the owner, I would probably feel differently. If I were as mechanically inclined as a lot of the members here, I may feel differently also.

Going back to newer trucks, when are the 2014 Power Wagons going to show up on the Ramtrucks website? I've seen a couple videos on youtube, but nothing from Ram saying they are available.

Only $21k? Just let me slip out the ole check book.... Think he'll notice if I post date it a few years

Low mileage is great, for a Cummins that truck probably isn't broke in either, think I'd be tempted to spend that kind of money on a newer truck.
